State Shirt's cover of The Him I may like even more https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7utFuJflS8o Wow, that's excellent, the visuals seem to be sourced from archive material that the band found online. It would be interesting to find out there the animation originated. Great drumming on the track btw. I am guessing that the lyrics are by Steve, very enigmatic. I'd nearly go so far as to say that this band's version of The Him surpasses Blake's cover of Atmosphere!

I thought he (State Shirt) catches the atmosphere of Movement overall - the haunting feeling - better in that version than the album version. That said, I may prefer NOs version better ultimately, for Hooky's pulsing bass into the close. As far as covers too close to original, I really tend to agreement with you, perspexorange. But then versions too far afield - what was that acoustic version of BLT? - seem gimmicky after the shine wears off.
