Even shortened and taken down a key or two, I will never ever get tired of The Perfect Kiss. The last two minutes of that song are one the greatest things they ever wrote.

I had the exact same thought. Apart from maybe the last sentence. I miss the days when bands made their money from selling albums, and the whole world didn't spend their "music money" on seeing artists live. The venues were more intimate, the gigs were cheaper, and a new act wouldn't suddenly go massive (thanks to internet/social media hype). You tend to get bands on their first or second album playing large venues these days when they should still be playing clubs, and universities *. I was reasonably happy to go to Wembley back in 2006 (though I preferred Brixton Academy '05) but I didn't even want to see NO at the 20k capacity O2. Bigger isn't necessarily better - unless you're the one reaping the profits. * Fontaines DC (2 studio albums) played Ally Pally (10k capacity) on 27th October. Khruangbin have sold out the venue for their gig there next April...

Watched the stream over breakfast ~7am here Downunder. That was a first :-)
Cast it to the TV from my laptop. Footage was very well produced, and felt different to just watching Education Entertainment because of the realtime aspect, and it kind of bookended NO during Covid for me, having been to the Sydney gig in March 2020 before shit went south.
1963 was a pleasant surprise, and the whole gig was really good although not having that wonderful segue into VP from BLT was a shame. Ultraviolence remains a standout in the modern set for me.

I was discussing Neworder in the pub the other night with a mate, who I'd introduced to the band a few years ago and I told him that if he wants to hear Neworder at their very best, listen to the full majesty of the 9 minute TPK and pay particular attention to the symphonic triumph of the last couple of minutes. I'm sure I heard a kitchen sink in there at one point.

Looked a pretty good setlist.
I've never personally seen them perform 1963 or Age of Consent, so there's a part of me that's kicking myself for not going.
As I've probably said before, if they'd thrown in a couple of real 'deep cuts' or tracks not played for years (EGG, Thieves Like Us) I'd have been really miffed.
I'll go and see them next year when, hopefully, the planet has returned back to somewhere near normality.

All fair points and I too enjoyed Brixton Academy ‘05 much more than Wembley Arena ’06. Brixton ‘05 was simply a mad, crazy , bonkers brilliant night and also helped by the fact I like Brixton Academy a lot, I’ve always had a great time at gigs there over the years. Wembley Arena on the other hand I’ve never taken to. I didn’t really enjoy NO there at their 1987 gig and only a little better at the ‘06 one.Just don’t like the place

I take it no-one has found a capture of the livestream vid of this yet? I've looked on Soulseek a few times under a variety of search terms such as New Order O2/ New Order O2 London 06.11.21/ New Order livestream O2 but i haven't found a single sniff apart from an mp3 audience audio recording which isn't really what i'm after.I'm only after a video capture of the livestream.I know, i know i should have stumped up the £16 to watch live in the first place on the night....

Had the same issue whe I missed them in Turin 2005 cos (a) Hooky was still there and (b) they brought back everything's Cum Cream. Never mind. My fault for being such a lazy cunt. You won't believe this but even though I was converted in 1989 I've NEVER seen em live. Just Electronic once and The Light seven times. I went to Reading in 1993 but my spex broke and I thought listening without seeing would be even worse than fuck all. New Order are the opposite of the Spice Girls. You wanna listen and not look.
