Don't ask why or how...but I caught an episode of Pointless on Tuesday where one of the categories was songs which repeat two words in the title (ignoring and etc) and Round & Round was featured.
You guessed it, although on the main board, it scored no points. No one chose it either.
That'd be a Vanishing Point then...somebody stop me

I saw this episode of "Pointless" too & correctly guessed "Round And Round", as like Del Boy said above, it was in a music round & you had to name the missing word in various different song titles, who all had the same word used more than once, so aswell as "Round And Round" by New Order, there was also "Say, Say, Say" by Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney and "It's A Man's, Man's, Man's World" by James Brown etc.
"Round And Round" was pointless, but I guess outside of us fans, it's not a particularly well-known New Order song & only got to #21 in '89. The general public only really seem to know a few New Order songs, which are usually: "Blue Monday", "True Faith", "World In Motion", "Regret" & "Crystal".
It's a shame as "Round And Round" is a good track & one of my favourites on the "Technique" album. :)

A photo of Ian Curtis was a picture question (relating to the Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn) on University Challenge in November. It may come as a pleasant surprise that neither U2 nor Depeche Mode were used in this programme, and that the contestant students got it right. It may come as a more unpleasant surprise to learn that a student five seasons ago guessed that Blue Monday was released in 1981. |
