Grum - a Scottish bloke with a silly DJ name who seems to make a lot of money out of doing bland prog-house cover versions of old songs and then being paid large amounts of dosh to DJ in Ibiza. I'm actually angry that I didn't do this myself at some point; easy money. Check out his version of Tears for Fears'
Shout
to see just how much he can bland out a track; it's quite impressive, or maybe it's just depressing. One of those.
The only thing I really respect him for is his predilection for dropping the Kreamer & K mix of Crystal into his DJ sets, but it's usually surrounded by bland shite on either side.
This might be a good time to mention some of the other New Order tracks that have been sampled or covered over the years. Y'know, proper cover versions comercially released as opposed to the amateur/Fruity Loops stuff that dominated another thread recently.
I gave this first one a mention in the "What are You Listening To" thread a while back, but I get the feeling that only about five people actually visit that thread anymore. So in case you missed it:
It was Sumner, now it's Autumn (see what I did there? Su
mn
er?). I quite like this.
The Perfect Kiss
Confusion
More Confusion (jump to 3.48)
Even more confusion (jump to 3.13 and 3.29)
Bizarre Love Triangle (jump to 1.30)
More BLT (yikes, horrible!)
More BLT (warning this is also horrible, a cover and a sample, I think)
Hurt
In A Lonely Place
Leave Me Alone
Regret
Vanishing Point (sample right at the start)
Your Silent Face
And of course there was Life Goes On By Keep Dancing Inc (interpolating AOC) which I mentioned in NO spotting recently, Rhianna's Shut Up and Drive (Blue Monday) and various cover versions of Love Vig by Iron & Wine amongst others.

Why does this thread have over 26k views?
Is it because World means that mach to a certain tranche of NO fans who got into the band via the poppy production of Republic?
Is it because of all the sample related videos in post #3?
Is it some other reason I haven't thought of?
Are there really that many people reading these threads? If so why don't they sign up and add their voice?
