Bit of a long shot and I know Revenge weren't to everybody's taste, but does anyone have videos of the following three gigs?:

Riverside, Newcastle, UK, 19/04/90
Cambridge Junction, Cambridge, UK, 23/04/90
El Rey Theater, Los Angeles, California, USA, 12/08/97

Apparently, someone did video these and they are out there somewhere.

I think I'm the only person who happened to like Revenge.

Masochist!

Every now and then I wake in a cold sweat. I'm sure it's down to seeing Revenge in 1991, all ponytails, shorts and wavey arms, helpHi

... are you sure about the 1997 show? i saw Monaco on 08.12.97 at the El Rey, and i remember that show quite vividly. Potts was sick and couldn't sing all of his lines thru some of the songs, so the keyboardist did a lot of backup singing that night. my coworker wanted to leave in the middle of the set, because he couldn't stand Hooky's "ego". i told him to stay, and said that's just his stage persona, he's really a nice guy. in-between songs, people would randomly shout out JD, NO, and Revenge songs. on one occasion, someone shouted something(couldn't hear it), and Hooky replies(while standing with bass dangling and arms crossed, without smiling) "FUCK OFF! This is my show, not yours!" complete, and total macho, that only Hooky can pull off. made me appreciate him even more. yes, i liked Revenge too. liked Electronic more though... Revenge did play at the Mayan in 1990 though.

Ah, yes. I made a mistake. It was Monaco, not Revenge.
I had it labelled incorrectly.

I've seen it reported on the internet (here, for example: http://www.worldinmotion...ping/manuel_caviglia.htm) that the gig was filmed, but only the first three tracks.
Maybe the bootlegger got fed up after the 'singing' issues you mentioned. I guess, back in '97, video cameras were fairly hefty devices. I wouldn't be surprised if the cameraman got tired after a few songs.

Glad I'm not the only fan of Revenge. I like quite a few of their tracks; Jesus, I Love You, Pineapple Face, Big Bang, Slave, 14K and all four tracks on Gun World Porn.

But, yeah, I probably liked Electronic more.
Well, certainly the first LP, which I bloody loved at the time and, to me, it still has a wonderful nostalgia element whenever I listen to it.
I wasn't that struck on either of the other two Electronic LPs though.
I never really got into 'Twisted Tenderness', as I was kind 'off' New Order (and related bands) at the time, although it doesn't sound too bad to me nowadays.
Raise The Pressure, I think, is easily the weakest of the three LPs and I found it quite bland, even at the time. I did play it a lot at the time, but can hardly remember how any of the songs go anymore. I will say that 'For You' is a lovely track though, and one I play every so often.

March 92: Rock Garden, Dublin. I went to that.
It was maybe half full, we just paid on the door.

I remember the Irish Times reviewer commenting on Hooky's arm-waving and suggesting that the current trend for Shoegazing might be more agreeable. I think he said he preferred looking at the dummies in the shop window he walked past on his way home!

I didn't record it though. Soz.

No probs.

Strangely, I'd forgotten to check the gigography.
It does confirm that the first two gigs I mentioned were videoed.

No one got them then? Damn. Oh, well. Worth a try.

Sorry - missed this earlier.

Nope - no idea. Same goes for 'Born To Kill'.
I'm guessing that they may well be early versions of songs later recorded as Monaco. They were gigging 'Tender' (ultimately a Monaco track) at that point, so there's a reasonable chance that the songs morphed into others.

Also, Revenge & Monaco, did change track titles at times:

Wende (Revenge) / Slave (Revenge)
Big Bang (Revenge) / The Trouble With Girls (Revenge)
Hot Nights/Cool City (Revenge) / Bleachboy (Revenge) / Bleachman (Revenge)
Pumpkin (Revenge) / Microbes (Monaco)
Underworld (Revenge) / The Wilding (Monaco)

And some interesting titles for June in http://www.worldinmotion.net/newsroom/2000.htm ... I'm sure I once read NCB was another Monaco sing title.
