I've recently gotten back in to buying vinyl records, and after getting Substance, it shows Blue Monday as 8:12, and of course everything else has it at around 7:26 or so....so is it misprinted? I can't spin the vinyl yet because my turntable is in another state.
Sorry, I know this is probably one of those questions that has been answered over and over but since I haven't been buying albums for over 20 years I haven't paid attention...
Thanks! Brian

Thanks! Brian The original Blue Monday a-side only lasts around 6:30. The original b-side - The Beach - lasts around eight minutes, which is why Blue Monday '83 was only released (as a single) on 12" vinyl. I borrowed my older brother's copy of Substance on cassette for a good ten years, but never saw any tracklisting times. I'm sure someone here will know more, and it's good to have some new faces on the scene! |

Quote:...it shows Blue Monday as 8:12... What does? There's no mention on the vinyl (or the CD for that matter) of the timings for any tracks.

The copy of Substance on vinyl that I have (Qwest) does have times listed for all the tracks(the label on the actual vinyl). I first bought the cassette sometime in 1988, and the cd's a couple of years later, I've always know Blue Monday was around 7:29 I just found it really odd that it was listed as 8:12...
