That version that's on the Movement Definitive Edition on the extras CD.Been giving it a few spins lately. It's as good as if not better than the actual released 1982 7" IMHO.It has an ever so slightly lighter feel than than the released 7" i think.Steve's drums are a little less heavy to my ears.On the released version i sometimes feel the production on the drum sound was a little too loud/heavy.On the alternate mix i'm sure the end result on Steve's drum sound is a bit nicer.Maybe just me, dunno. The twiddly sequencer(s?) on the track (?) is/are a bit lighter and airier (and perkier?) too, to my ears.Or maybe some people can't tell the difference...? I'm sure on the outro Bernard plays a note or two different on his guitar to the released version, also guitar parts elsewhere have a slightly different feel .Thoughts? Bothered? Not bothered? What is that Fotz weirdo on about ?

I know the original 7 inch really well after all these years, but to be honest, if I hadn't known the one on the bonus disc was an alternate version, I'd've mistaken it for a remaster of the original 7 inch!

Must give it another spin and a closer listen!

This?

and we're comparing to this?

At the moment I'm leaning towards Mr Discography's thoughts. But it's late. Maybe I'll listen with "fresh ears" tomorrow.

Suppose it could sound like it's simply a remaster, yes.

I do appreciate all versions -- apart the current live arrangement -- the 1987 one being my favourite, since it was the first one I've heard
