Just trawling through Amazon and came across this little belter of a review which I thought I'd share.... as the saying goes 'I bet Mr Casio Smith is great fun at parties.' "3.0 out of 5 stars and thats being generous," 20 Oct 2010 By casio smith (england church gresley) Power, Corruption And Lies (Audio CD) a n other eighties electronic album, just a few hints of quasi joy division melancholy but sometimes verging on embarassment, like the ridiculous robot voice on one track, almost sounds like biggles, movement was a very good effort with ian being lost but this shows them running out of ideas and it exposes the shallowness of new orders (and especially sumners) lyrics compared to ians, this is basically music for DANCING and the clubs, NOT music for the heart and soul attacking the boundaries of music.

Biggest load of garbage I think I have ever read. PC&L was the "breakthrough" album, whereas its predecessor - Movement was dark, mean and moody.
Casio really needs to get out a bit more me thinks.

If Casio would clear the semen out of his ears and pull the stick out of his ass and give it another spin he would just say the same thing.

This is the problem with the Net. Any silly fucker can write any old toss and it's up there for posterity.

He's the same person who posted numerous "home made edits" of the original Joy Division In A Lonely Place demo all over YouTube a few years ago. They were absolutely atrocious. I seem to remember he engaged in a funny little "fanboy spat" with Darkman at the time on the old board.
Unsurprising he's not a fan of what they did after Joy Division.

Maybe he thinks he's a underrated genius or bigger than New Order... or even than Beatles, who knows... |

So when the album gets played "from beginning to end on vinyl on our audiophile hi-fi" and "Listening guidelines apply", do we all have to sit there stroking our beards and nodding sagely?
