Hooky just announced that Pottsy will be replacing their existing guitarist Nat for the rest of the PH&TL Movement & PCL gigs!!! So I guess they can drop The Light & call themselves Monaco or Revenge from now on. Edited by user 26 July 2013 16:46:54(UTC)

It's ironic that Monaco picked up where Electronic left off in 1996, at least for me. I love Electronic's first album and only parts of Raise The Pressure. I never could get through the terrible guitar hero rock of Twisted Tenderness. Whereas I enjoyed all Monaco's output since 1997 on.

Well, well, well, thought nat was ace,,,did he not dance with hooky at Buxton? My take on it would be he needs potty to sing the songs from new order. At least we get the Monaco tour in 2018
What do you want from me?

And they're playing the Junction Sixteen Festival next weekend. And I'm going! Wonder how different it will be to Mcr Cathedral? Mr Jack, sir, can you confirm the set (ish) that you'll be playing?
Sha la la la La la la Sha la la la La la la.
Do I get to go on the guest list now? :-)

I've not caught up with this fully but will Pottsy be doing vocals on the upcoming Movement/PC&L dates or just playing guitar?
I mean, he's got experience of singing "The Village" and stuff like that so he'd seem a logical choice not to mention his vocal range is closer to Barney's than Hooky's.

Going to the Bristol fleece gig in Sept. Think Hooky's voice is very well suited for the JD sets and probably Movement, but it would be really, really great to have some swapping around during the set and hear Pottsy doing the vocals for most/all of Power Corruption and Lies and Temptation? :)

M4P is easiest the best 'Out Of Order' Hooky album, possibly the best 'Out Of Order' album at all, though there was the small matter of 91's 'Electronic'...

Is Potts going to sing some songs especially as they move into Republic? I can't see Hooky singing all those songs himself.

Actually, the Light playin' Republic isn't as weird as you'd think. Remove Avalanche (as an Other Two track) and exactly half the songs were played on the '93 tour. And though Hook's bass is low is the final mix, that may have more to do with Bernard and Stephen Hague taking over than his initial contribution - I always got the idea it started as a classic NO LP (Steve Morris told Select that Regret, Ev Ev and Special were his favourites and also the first ones they wrote - no accident they're the only ones they did live, except the singles which are kinda obligatory). Plus, Hooky live tends to sing and play bass round it, which is paradoxically the Hague format! Finally, I'm sure musicians of this calibre wouldn't take on a project unless they were determined to do it justice: the original UP project sounded dubious but I've yet to read a bad review! We'll see. Republic is still fucking shit though.
