Can't see it happening meself - sounds like New Order's talk of an EP, giving the fans what they wanna hear without actually committing. The Light are touring like fuck, can you imagine them writing a new LP too?

Quote:Our manager and the folks at Factory always used to say the same thing to you: the most important song you ever write is your next one. Get on with it. Did anyone in NO listen to that?

Tom Chapman just recently posted a pic on Twitter about recording something... but he's not very clear about what or which band.

It could be his own band Rubberbear, or it could be New Order. Who knows. However, in New Order's case, I'm not super cynical, so I don't think New Order are just saying it to make the fans happy.

perhaps some fans of new order have lost their enthusiasm. bernard is the only person in music that has written great songs with great lyrics after reaching the ripe old age of 50. bad lieutenant's never cry another tear was a superb collection of songs . bernard was 54 then. maybe too many fans have not gotten over the allure of craphop, piddle metal, or homorock. hey - try jayzee, or beyonce, or judas priest,or depeche mode -- plenty of twats for everyone . or mettallicca. they deliver the goods if you are a preteen cunt. oh yeah i forgot . rock the shack , dracula's castle , and jet stream don't sound like turn the heater on , or 24 hours, or ceremony so they must be crap. i doubt anyone here can name one singer songwriter that has written anything substantial(worth listening to more than 100 times)after reaching 50. and cole porter ,harold arlen ,johnny mercer, pg wodehouse, irving berlin , noel coward , george and ira gershwin could not or did not sing well. huddie ledbetter comes close. paul simon ,dylan, mccartney try ,yet, who cares. ian mcculloch is still at it ,so maybe he will succeed . |
