There'll be at least 3 more after that in a giveaway on That Evil Blue Place That Begins With An F. Am hoping for one as my copy skips on Denial (also has odd green sleeve, homemade inner sleeve and may well be a pirate).

Hello
Never posted on here before but look occasionally.
I was first in line today.
Can't pass up free vinyl and as I love this album I couldn't miss it so got there before 6.
The sleeve isn't numbered and if it's like the other special hmv releases there will be 300 plus copies.
It is sealed in thin plastic film with the stickers on that - unlikely it can be opened without tearing it.

Yes, it doesn't say anywhere that it's limited to 100, does it?
"100 copies to giveaway. Limited edition clear vinyl pressing" is what their FB page says.

I notice the artwork has been modified. "Printed by Cinram, Alsdorf" now appears as the next to last line on the back of the sleeve. http://www.ebay.co.uk/it...&hash=item1c37ce2d04http://s.pixogs.com/image/R-28847-1330540257.jpegJeb Edited by user 18 October 2013 05:23:32(UTC)

That artwork change first occurred on the 2008 180g reissue I believe. As luck would have it, I've got the 2008 reissue and this week's one side by side and they are identical except the clear vinyl sleeve is a slightly lighter hue.

I really want one, but coming from LA to would be too expense. A pressing of a 100 is quite expensive. I wonder if they did a larger run and reserving the balance to sell in their shops later? Wishful thinking? Next months RSD titles haven’t been released yet. 100 copies on clear vinyl of a previously released recording, likely subsidised by a deal between HMV and their label, isn't exactly a huge drain on resources. Do you really think Barney is taking money out of his pocket for this promotion? Nothing to do with resources. I suspect (and hope) there were more than 100 pressed.

Surely there must be some way of making sure that these things only go to genuine fans? I'd be quite happy to take my complete vinyl collection along with me to prove that I've been following New Order since... well, forever. I waited until midnight for NO to come on stage at The Ritz in Manchester in 1981 and missed the last bus home, got points on my license coming back from Bradford, froze to death outside King Georges Hall in Blackburn and so on and so on, and like most folk on here I have a few oddities and rarities that would prove to even the most hardened cynic that a clear vinyl Movement would find a good home with me alongside its black vinyl brother that I bought from Piccadilly records the day it was released... then took it back because the label was scuffed, only to find that ALL the albums in their batch had scuffed labels..! How could an eBay tout come up with something like this..? Well, obviously NOW they could, but you get my drift. If there's anyone out there reading this who's in control of this release, PLEASE make sure that these treasures only go to good homes. Rant over. Edited by user 18 October 2013 13:11:34(UTC)

i always wait for a few months after these kind of things come out. sometimes years.
sure, it would be nice as a fan release. or maybe a pricey rarity.
sure, it would be nice to have it now, but if you're patient, it will turn up again.
besides, US fans, are always missing out on all the cool covers, and UK/europe only releases.
this is nothing new. it will happen again.

I have to admit I got a copy of that clear vinyl on eBay. As -1 said, fans outside UK/Europe always miss out the original sleeves, special giveaways (remember the WFTSC slipcase?) etc. I'm a huge New Order fan since I'm 11 (it was in 1988) and I am also a hardcore collector. Unfortunately, about 90% of New Order's releases are not distributed or marketed in Brazil (just albuns are released here) and most of rarities, itens that I've lost when I was a teenager or I didn't have money at that time and then became out of catalogue I purchased on eBay. Now I have pride to got a collection I consider excellent and that makes me happy as a fan. And Pete, I'm sure that LP is in a good home here. Edited by user 19 October 2013 04:24:52(UTC)
