They do, it just requires a bit of effort, how did other fans come to acquire them? I think while the original Recycle was beautifully executed and important one of the downsides was it created a side-effect of automatic entitlement with some people. I believe £50 Note commented on that himself at one point when some people almost
demanded lossless copies over AAC. Now some expect whole releases to be available to them at a click and absolutely free of charge. It hasn't set a great precedent but there were no doubts £50 Note genuinely hoped the record label would pick up the project and run with it. The point remains with each of these mass give aways the chances of the label doing something (however slim) reduce further and your Recycle 2 will have the same impact once it hits the torrent sites (and it will, no matter how "private" you make it).
you are basing your thoughts on a false assumption.
since you didn't join the blog, you have no idea about the
project parameters.
no body is expecting anything for free, they are investing their time,
and sharing their resources with each other. i would hardly call that free.
there will be
no impact, because new order and their management
never has and
will
never provide the quality product that the fans can make by themselves. after
waiting 30 years, if the best they can do is retro, and the botched remasters,
i'm not willing to wait 30 more years for them to straighten their act out.
Quote:negative1 wrote:there are a lot of b-sides in there too. it's not just mixes.
That's disingenuous because as you know it's mainly remixes, they only had 5 sporadic b-sides post-Factory:
Vicious Circle, Behind Closed Doors, Sabotage, Player In The League and Such A Good Thing - in that order.
you have a different idea, maybe if you expanded that to include
all the non compilation tracks, and live tracks. it is a small
but significant amount.
Quote:negative1 wrote:how are you supposed to buy or find things that were limited,
waiting for the sirens call (tribute mix) 10" only had 30 copies.
100 copies, not 30. Again, if you really want one they are for sale on Discogs.
i stand corrected, you are right, the 12" only had 30 copies. yes, they are
on sale, for a ridiculous amount though. no thanks. already have it.
Quote:negative1 wrote:some of the promo's are completely out of print.
Promos are never "in print" to begin with as they're not meant for public consumption. They're pressed once and that's it.
and yet, i have countless promos in my hand, bought and paid for.
turning a blind eye to them does not make them disappear, and
neither do your definition of them.
most of them contain valuable mixes, and are an important
part of new orders history.

Actually it
did stop them in the case of The New Order Archives, or did you
miss this? You may be interested in the bit "
It was mentioned to me that the label has been focusing on me/the blog(s) as well.".
Best of luck with your blog etc. I'm sure your members will enjoy it but all the above points stand.
thanks appreciate it.
but if you think a bunch of tracks are going to miraculously appear
in FLAC/WAV for free. you have no idea how this project is going to work.
or what is going to come out of it.
none of your points make any difference in the scheme of things,
and it stands there will be many more to come.
=============================================
1 recycle+ - a entirely new take on the original recycle with a lot more missing, extra tracks and demos
2 remasters+ - what the remasters should have been, 2-4cd sets for each album, with the
missing tracks done properly
3 retro+ - what retro really should have been
etc. this is just the beginning.
if you and leather girl are not interested in this project,
and continue debating about the ethics of it, have no fear.
it won't change anyone's opinion about it. and it will just
continue to waste your time reading about it, and all the
other projects. you may safely resume commenting about their
apperance, pointless interviews, and the lack of anything
coming out from them in the future.
cheers.
