Now there's a blast from the past! Johnny Hates Jazz was the first best-of compilation CD I ever bought in 1996. This isn't bad, but I'd sooner listen to the Turn Back The Clock album... Glad I heard this though, so thanks Leather Lady. |

i'm watching all and any footage i can find of depeche mode, having come home with a MONSTER-sized crush on dave gahan - a 51 year old man with eyeshadow, tattoos and a leather waistcoat. extremely camp, and extremely, extraordinarily sexy. best gig i've ever been to. by miles and miles and miles.

"Here is a bulletin/Here is a bulletin/Stand by please/Stand by please"
"It appears as though something has happened, in the motorcade group"
"Mrs Kennedy jumped up, she called OH NO!/ OH NO!"/ OH NO!/ OH NO!"
"Ruby? He runs the Carousel club?"
"Mrs Kennedy's pink suit"Possibly the best use of sampling in a song ever.Genius. I have the 7" of this that came free with NME many years ago and all the sampled news cuts stayed forever in my brain

Me too! I bought the NME that week specifically for that record stuck to the front. I think my copy is still at my parents house.

Me too! I bought the NME that week specifically for that record stuck to the front. I think my copy is still at my parents house. The repeated sample "Mrs Kennedy jumped up, cried OH NO!" with even a sample of Prince groaning on 'Kiss' in between always makes me chuckle even when you know it's so wrong to chuckle at anything to do with the JFK assassination. Watched a documentary about the the JFK assissination the other night. It concluded with a (new to me)mindblowing theory that the third and fatal bullet that blew JFK's brains out was accidentally fired by a secret service agent in the car behind Kennedy's.The theory is that upon hearing the first 2 shots the agent grabbed his rifle and turned to see where the first 2 shots had come from but in the chaos and confusion accidentally pulled the trigger and of all the places the bullet could have gone it hit Kennedy's head. Curve: Coast is Clear http://www.muzu.tv/curve...ear-music-video/1766425/For some reason Youtube tell me that the official video isn't available in my country. Heaven forbid that I disrupt the huge promotional push that BMG have got going for Curve at the moment... Edited by user 17 November 2013 09:10:43(UTC)

This band would be absolutely amazing, if only someone could teach the members how to play more than one chord... Glad to have seen the video none-of-the-less... |

Although this isn't what I'd normally listen to, at least this band have bothered to try and use some chords and chord phrases. The vocals aren't bad either. They'll be calling you NovaNora if you keep finding gems like this! Glad to have heard it. |
