Between March 29 and April 6th New Order will be back to South America and me and a group of Brazilian fans - some have known each other since the old days of a mIRC channel called /neworderbrasil - will go in these gigs. We are from different parts of Brazil and we always joined virtually in all concerts on the continent since the 2006 tour. Some of us have already seen the band in Europe too, even before this. One or two lucky boys saw the band when they came for the first time in 1988 (unfortunatelly I was 11 at that time). So, we consider ourselves almost a "fanclub" or something a little bit similar to "The Vikings" (in a very very small scale, you see). I would like to suggest to the guys a FAC-number for us, maybe to do some badges for the gigs (I really don't know if we will have time for this). The Vikings have got FAC 383. I was thinking about FAC 553. The "55" before the "3" is because that prefix is the international call code for Brazil. I was searching in the internet if the FAC 553 is in use, but I didn't find anything. Does someone know if it was really not used? Excuse my bad english guys... Cheers. Tony Wilson has passed away. Trying to assign Factory numbers after his death is a big NO (pun fully intended) for me.

Yeah, I know. It's a pitty... Several years ago when I have had a modest website in portuguese called Technique Page dedicated to N.O. Tony Wilson has written to me to congratulate the page (unfortunatelly I didn't save that message) and said he'd put the URL in the upcoming Factory 2 releases, what it never happened. I should have asked him a FAC number at that time...
So, who can give FAC codes (or refuse to do it) nowadays? |

Sadly, nobody can. The last FAC number allocated (and with the highest number) was FAC 501, Tony's coffin. Nothing to stop you unofficially adopting a number but given the above, would you want to?

Partially correct. FAC 501, Anthony H. Wilson's coffin, was indeed the last/final number to be assigned. But FAC 511, the "And You Forgotten" memorial event for Rob Gretton in 2004, was the highest number assigned. -Mike

FAC numbers are over-rated anyway.

Well, so let's adopt it! Now our gang got, unofficially, a FAC... And yes, the major influence and inspiration have been the Vikings. Last year we got pin-back buttons for Hooky's The Light tour in South America. Now we'll have these tiny metallic badges finished with resin and artwork printed in vinyl contact paper. Nothing as spectacular as the Viking's badges, but I think they look fine (my wife loved it). The production of this kind of badge is very fast and cheap. Edited by user 15 March 2014 16:21:36(UTC)

now i am special too? Nobody feel yourself special because got a FAC code... But why it doesn't be a healthy kidding between fans? The point is: it would be FUN have a FAC, even unofficially, but it's fair don't adopt one in use. So, I asked: Does FAC553 is already in use? Quite simple, right? |
