If there is any new material then surely at least one new track will be aired?

I'm going out on a limb (unlike Lady Gaga, she goes down on a limb) but... Blue Monday? Temptation? True Faith but not the original, the surprise Perfecto / 87 mash-up. Whatcha gonna do when the novelty has gone?

They have 7 fresh new tracks. As I know this new version of Bernard, nothing will see the light of the day before its official release. Edited by user 11 March 2014 11:44:25(UTC)

No chance to see any new song on stage before the official release as Julio said. I remember they played "Technique" tracks for the first time in Brazil in november 1988, i.e. just before the release of the album, but I'm sure that was the last time the band did it.Edited by user 11 March 2014 12:31:02(UTC)

Since around 1987 the only time the band played any original song live before it was released was when they had finished mixes and a release date within three months or so. (Technique stuff in Nov 1988, Get Ready stuff in July 2001, Sirens stuff in March 2005).

If they are to release a single rather than an album then there maybe a new release within the next couple of months

No way
We'd be lucky if there is any new "old" material played, let alone new "new" stuff . . . . |

I'd love them to bash out a medley of 5-8-6 / EGG / Temptation just to please the trainspotters.
That said, I was watching Thieves Like Us from Berlin earlier, that sounded really good. They should retire some of the commonly played older ones and bring Confusion, R&Round, World etc back into rotation. And play the UK again. I'm being selfish of course!

Oh! oh I see. Did they introduce it as Drop The Guitar or was it on their stage setlists? I've heard worse, heard better. Maybe it'll grow... Setlist FM linkEdited by user 31 March 2014 11:48:25(UTC)

I love it...very dark and intense. Reminds me of groove driven stuff they did in the early 80's. Tom's bassline is a driving part of the song, but he isn't emulating Hooky, giving from for Phil and Bernard's guitar into interact with Gillian's synths over the groove. Steve drumming is as tight and propulsive as ever. Shows promise!
