First off i was just wondering why:
a) get ready is so rare on vinyl, does anyone how many were pressed? b) why only a single album, its about 25mins per side, primitive notion at the end of side 1 sounds pretty flat!
b) a friend gave me a copy of the clear movement on vinyl. it had the clear vinyl sticker but no hmv sticker. so i'm assuming there was more than the 100 pressed. did that event with hooky ever happen? i'm just wondering how many are around. any ideas?
cheers!

Less than 3000 were pressed. Vinyl was very much considered a dead format in 2001 - and expensive to manufacture - so no one was going the 180g/double LP route. I'd like to have a copy, thought. I have all the other proper LPs on vinyl.

Digging around the web, a poster in another forum reckons they were only pressed in Germany, and filtered out to the rest of Europe (and the world) from there.

Ok so since receiving my Movement Clear Vinyl without the HMV sticker, two have appeared on ebay (ended at £62) and two on discogs. So i'm wondering where all these are suddenly appearing from? I suspect it must be the ones they pressed for the Hooky giveaway. Odd though.

There is no "extra" stock, the ones on ebay came by way of someone who was in the right place at the right time. |

Seems HMV DID have a "trickle" of stock that went out to various branches. They were sold for £16.99 and "may" have been sold as "new" stock rather than the lauded limited edition.
Bloke I know picked up half a dozen at a branch in Scotland, which has since closed... There lies yet another twist to this never ending tale... |

The clear vinyl "Movement" I purchased from a private eBay seller was shipped directly from Rhino UK. It appears it was sold to me either directly by a Rhino warehouse employee, or their relative/friend. Mine came without the HMV sticker. I would say it's a safe bet that more than 100 were pressed. But the pressing still appears to be very limited. I would guess in the 500 range, but that's purely a guesstimate on my part.

I love the feel of the vinyl, the sound of vinyl and Melanie C's buttocks. I tried to collect every JD/NO/Lec/Revenge/O2 vinyl release up till early '96 when it got tough due to my moving around too much. I sometimes think I had more fun tracking down obscure 12"-ers and inserting them into my collection than I did actually listening to the fuckers! 'One True Passion' was hardly 'Unknown Pleasures' was it?

I went back to buying vinyl a couple of years ago, picked up almost all of New Order's album releases on vinyl ( the only two I haven't picked up are Rest Of ( I'll get it if I can find one with the right price...very cheap) ) and Movement. Even been working on the 12 inch singles as well...
