I'd like to think most of us could come up with better questions than these about EDM and current drug culture. But maybe interviewing the band is more difficult than it appears.

Not terribly excited about a collaboration with James Murphy. His music is alright but I feel this would be a step backwards for New Order.

Yeah there were some shit questions. If i was Bernard i wouldn't have wasted my time and breath talking about EDM except to say it's shite.I loved James Murphy's LCD Soundsytem stuff but not sure a collaboration with him would be any good.

To me there seemed to be a grey area as to whether they were talking about releasing NO material on Murphy's DFA label in the US (business collaboration) or if they were talking musical collaboration. Well...maybe both?
I saw LCD Soundsystem four times during their too-short career, and I really enjoyed three out of the four gigs. The crap one was 'supporting' Daft Punk in Hyde Park (I guess LCD were playing at Daft Punks house, so to speak). The sound was crap at that gig and the crowd didn't seem interested. Anyway I'd be quite excited to hear the results of a collab between the two entities.
Nice to hear the chaps mention The National and Arcade Fire but I kinda hope they realise at some point that The Killers haven't been much cop for a while. First album brilliance and then...ugh.

Why not? I think he did a good job with the last Arcade Fire's stuff... Before this he did one of the best Joy Division's cover versions ever made IMO: "No Love Lost".

Peter Who?

All conjecture of course but could they be about to sign with Murphy's DFA label I suppose?

Dunno what they've got left on their Warners deal but Lost Sirens came out on Rhino - traditionally a reissue label - so everything could be winding down on that front.

LCD were great and there was a lot of love for them (among the London Vikings anyway) so a production collaboration would be pretty exciting.

Even if he knocked out a remix along the lines of the one he did for David Bowie that would good enough...

Well Bernard suggested above that he couldn't talk about it "yet", suggesting there was something to it. With that in mind, this tweet from DFA today seems a bit strong. Perhaps Bernard was being mischievous...

You've all read too much into it, the question was about a new label and that's what Bernard didn't want to talk about just yet.

Wait and see who it is (not DFA).

Didn't realise there was quite so much assumption generated elsewhere by the Q&A, that tweet certainly leaves no ambiguity.

To be fair, it's obvious on here we're merely speculating as fan forums often do... but as JJ says, we'll just have to wait and see.

Time Can Tell. (See what I did there?) If the last 25 years have taught me anything it's not to get excited every time new stuff is suggested. Whatever happened to the BS / Digitalism collaboration...?
