This the one? At the time of writing it shows, Last Sold: Never.
I've seen this before when I've bought something from Discogs and it doesn't seem to acknowledge it under 'Last Sold'. Not sure if it's a weakness in their system or I'm missing something obvious.

Things only show up an the sold list once the seller has paid their monthly bill including that item. Stops anyone manipulating the results (which they surely would on Discogs).

Is it OK to hang on to my well travelled original version? Or should I "up grade".

There seems to be a bit of confusion on Discogs at the moment because someone has entered the EP under UK, Europe & US but there is another entered for US only. Does anyone definitively know if there are two pressings of this record as with the recent JD An Ideal For Living RSD reissue?

As far as I can make out there appears to be an EU pressing of 1981-1982 with Catalog# 825646215577 and a US pressing with Catalog# R1-215577.

Also, I haven't unsealed mine yet but is there an MP3 download code inside or simply just the record? Would've been interesting to have digital version of these supposed 2014 remasters even if only on MP3. Probably doubtful as there were no download codes with the clear Movement or JD EP. To be honest, you can compile the running order from the (fixed) Movement bonus disc remaster versions of 2009; they still sound pretty bloody good.

Well, I unsealed my (UK) copy!

On the outer sleeve (which obviously doesn't require the sleeve to be opened), it states at the bottom:

"Made In The EU. LC 14666. 825646215577" (the last number also being the barcode)

Inside, there is no MP3 download code, and on the label, it states "GEMA/MCPS" (which tends to indicate it's a European pressing).

As to what it states on the US release, I've no idea as I don't have that one! Cool

I think some people buy vinyl wanting to play it but maybe don't have a turntable or Hi-Fi speakers immediately to hand (this is me basically).

The majority of my own vinyl collection is stored elsewhere which is coincidentally where my turntable is Smile

Regardless of why people are buying it the past few years seem to have been good for vinyl, 2014 is the most sales since 1996 isn't it?

I'll probably unseal my new FACTUS 8 when I go home for "the holidays".

Well the RSD 2015 list came out today (though it may yet have further additions). I haven't bothered starting a new thread as I don't think there's much of interest on there for JD/NO fans this time. I guess we've had a good run though, so can't really complain.

I suppose if you're a dedicated 'Factory' fan, you might be interested in a yellow vinyl reissue of the Mondays Pills n Thrills, but so far I have to say, nothing is particularly jumping out at me. Do we need another vinyl reissue of an old Bowie 7"? Or a 12" of Shout and Everybody Wants To Rule The World by TFF? Well maybe someone does, perhaps I shouldn't judge.

The list in Website
and PDF formats.

EDIT: Johnny Marr/Depeche Mode/Smiths fans might be interested in this exclusive RSD release

EDIT 2: Ah, there's also a Stephen Morris remix of Fujiya & Miyagi. It's an RSD 'First Release' rather than being exclusive just for that day. I think this counts as new NO related news! I've added a Soundcloud link and stuff in a new thread on Music For Pleasure now. It seems the Soundcloud has been up for a while so maybe this news isn't quite as new as I thought.

Before y'll point it out, these are from a fake RSD twitter feed. It straddles the line between utterly pointless and quite funny, methinks.

RSD 2015 LWTUA pic disk 7"
Quote:
Joy Division
Love Will Tear Us Apart / Leaders of Men
Record Store Day 2015 Release. The latest issue in Radiation's Record Store Day exclusive Picture disc series, this is a fully licensed, limited, hand-numbered edition of 500 copies only 7" with two classic Joy Division tracks. Radiation's little contribution to the celebration of vinyl and indie record stores and a nice souvenir you can both listen to and frame on your wall!

Not showing on the the RSD website list (as far as I can see) but it is popping up on individual UK record shop lists for Saturday. I suspect this is even less essential than some bootleg picture discs that may have popped up in the past.

The record looks fine, I like picture discs a lot. Radiation affirms that is a licensed one, so it doesn't seems a bootleg. Curiously, already exists a Cleopatra Records 7" single with "LWTUA" and "Leaders of Men". The back sleeve has the same picture of the RSD release.

It is a bootleg, definitely NOT licensed from Warners (the only label that can license JD material).

I'm sure it would be interesting to know who they did 'license' it from. Cleopatra would be the obvious guess.

No doubt features the same doctored 'alternate' versions as on previous Cleopatra releases, LWTUA the Pennine version with added bass parts and other recent messing, Leaders from the Warsaw RCA sessions.

Another bootleg rip-off at £14.99 (but rubbish at any price), don't waste your time.

It definitely isn't listed on either the UK or US Record Store Day web sites so how can it claim to be a part of the event? Bizarre. Aside from the way it looks what an odd pairing of tracks as well. I am tempted by the Johnny Marr 'I Feel You' 7" and the coloured vinyl reissue of Pills 'n' Thrills which looks very cool but haven't decided if I'll bother this year or not.

Queueing last year for 90 minutes was enough for me.

Not Record Store Day related but Rhino recently released "Indie 12 Inch" a 3 x CD compilation of 12" mixes from the 80s/90s/00s. NO and co are represented by:

New Order - True Faith '94 (Perfecto Mix)
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart (Original 12")
Electronic - Getting Away With It (Vocal Mix)

The Kylie vs Blue Monday mash-up "Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head (Original 12" Mix)" is also on disc 3.

For Factory aficionados there is a Happy Mondays remix, the full-length Euromix of Kinky Afro I believe.

I picked it up in HMV for £6 yesterday and for 3 CDs you can't really argue with that.

The sound of the discs is spot on as well; brighter but not brick-walled.

My coined and his wife are spending their holidays in Rome, so I asked him if they could go in that shop to get one copy for me. I know it's a bit of luxury, but I also collect these "exotic" items. Of course I won't spend a fortune on it by eBay at all.

Picked up my 81-82 EP on Saturday. Very cool, I just about wore my cd out a long time ago. Does anyone need to pick one up and mail?

Also, Peter Hook played Closer/Unknown pleasures right across the street from the store that night and wore my local shops Record Store Day shirt. Cool day :)

This probably doesn't warrant a new thread so I'll simply add it here...

THE BEST EVER: Indie

JD/NO have featured on yet another Rhino compilation released a couple of months ago: The Best Ever: Indie

From what I can tell it's the regular version of LWTUA again and what appears to be a unique (?) edit of the Shep Pettibone remix of True Faith... clocks in at 5:51. I initially thought it was the normal 12" version until I gave the preview a listen. I'm not sure if it's a completely rearranged edit or just a fade out type thing.

So err... yeah, check the link for further info if you're interested. It's on a load of digital outlets as well.
