Now then fettlers, it's been some years since I last brought my nasty stink to this here forum. Those were the days of the legendary Huntsman, Shug, GF, Livster, Tim, Jarvo, Jonathan Scott etc..... to name but a few.

Anyway was sorting through some old stuff and came across some rare (I think) New Order bits and bobs. It occurred to me that I may not have passed all of these gems on to you all in a past life. So, I have:

The extremely rare, (well it was at the time) Run 2 cassette given out to a select few Warner Brothers people. Can't remember how many copies were out there but there are 3 rare versions of Run 2 on there that, as far as I know, have never been released. Not sure at all if these are easy to come by these days.

Saturday Live, from 1984. Original stereo broadcast. Tracks: Sooner Than You Think, Age of Consent, Blue Monday, In A Lonely Place, and the greatest version of Temptation ever heard.

Also, I have the unreleased original version of Let's Go. A demo that didn't make it onto Low-Life, with different lyrics to the version released years later.

Various other nuggets available too.... some good, some decidedly dodgy. The sound quality is top drawer.

So, anyone who wants copies of these can contact me through this here forum. I think. Unless of course Nic the Blanc forbids it. I know things have gotten snippy these days on the sharing front. By the way, i'm not selling this stuff. They're free to anybody who wants them.

Yes, it does.

These day's i'm not so savvy as I used to be computer wise. I have all the stuff saved as lossless files, but can convert to any format for the purposes of emailing. Otherwise, some smart cookie is gonna have to walk me through how to upload them to somewhere you can help yourselves.

What you want to do is compact the files into a single file, you can do that by right clicking the folder they're in and select Send To - Compressed Zip Folder.
After that you can upload the single compressed folder to a site like Mega.co.nz (drag and drop onto the webpage), make an account there and upload the file. You should be able to get a link to where it was loaded to.

You don't really need to make it 1 file, but it makes it much easier to download and less likely to be snuffed out for whatever reason.

If you need more help my PM box is open.

Right then. Thanks Sage for your guidance.......

Here's the Run 2 cassette. All files are in the alac lossless format, compatible with itunes.

Someone please let me know if this works. More to follow when I have the time, including the fabled Mission Impossible theme. It's not New Order, but many of you think it is. I'll get it up over the weekend and you can judge for yourselves.

Ok, here's Saturday Live from 1984.

If I was only allowed to listen to one live session for the rest of my life this would be it. It's short, but this is New Order at their belligerent best. This is not the same FM recording I dished out years ago. No, this is way much better than that. So if you have that version of this recording you should still download this. It's the original FM broadcast but obviously recorded by someone who lived close to the broadcast mast, and used a top quality metal master tape or something. There's no FM hiss on this at all. Into the bargain it has been spruced up somewhat by a guy who goes under the moniker of The Analog Loyalist. I'm sure at least some of you will be familiar with his work with the JD stuff and early New Order live stuff. Anyway, grab this while you can. It's amazing!

Again, someone confirm it's working please. Enjoy!

Fascinating stuff, especially the tracks which appear in multiple, evolving forms. It grants a glimpse into their decision-making process, and how the songs were refined in the studio.

Reminds me of the various takes of "Transmission." On the "Warsaw" album, after Ian sings the first "live transmission" Barney plays what sounds like a C chord about 0:54 into it. On the Peel Session and Martin Rushent recordings, that's gone, but right after Ian sings "radio" a second time, Barney strikes an extra chord to add color. On the Hannett recording for Factory, it's gone.

If you have more nuggets, Muffy (including the "Love Will Tear Us Apart" multitracks), please share, and thanks.
