Nothing wrong with that. Some of my best friends are American sitcoms. Jizzstream gets regularly saughtered round here but it's not too bad. As Hooky said (so it must be true), it's one of those songs that needed remixing to kick butt, like 'World - Perfecto' or 'Spooky - Stadium', and the Arthur Baker mix is as good as most of Sirens / Lost Sirens (is that a compliment though?). Ana Matronic's pretty fit, but most people are fit next to Stephen Morris. As I said, it's appalling they list La Roux before Iggy Pop. Putting the tart befote the horse. Anyone else get the feeling that, despite Elly-La Roux-Jacksons' appearance on the album, Gillian may just get herself a (lead?) vocal on there somewhere?

I doubt it. I'm always surprised how many fascinating but far-fetched scenarios the fans manage to think up when 90% of the time we always get the same stuff. The most bizarre was someone who suggested NO would start doing songs from their offshoot projects live. This is about as likely as Ian Curtis being found alive and well and singing 'Tasty Fish' with them as Hooky guests on drums.

That would be better than a song prominently featuring the aforementioned ginge. If I want to hear her sing I'll buy a La Roux record, equally that numpty from the Killers (have you heard that latest crap he's put out? Essentially him singing all over an old Jimmy Somerville song - jesus wept).

Sadly she's tweeted she has no vocals on the new album.

ITYS. Yes, that is very, very sad indeed. I write this through a deluge of tears. Just Iggy Pop, then. Wankers.

Hello everyone. It's been a while and I haven't been keeping up with NO news at all lately, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover they've a new album coming soon.
Anyhow, sorry if this is a dumb/redundant question, but what is the group's relationship with Peter Hook these days? Is there any chance he'll work with them again or are things still pretty much unchanged?

Well, moving on from my Gillian 'fantasies', let's try something a little bit more likely: The Japanese Bonus Track.Tower Records (which still exists as some sort of Franchise in Ireland and in Japan) have got a listing for Music Complete: HERE. The album is due for release on the 23rd rather than the 25th of September. Track 12 is listed as : *曲目未定 (日本盤ボーナス・トラック) Which Google translate tells me means: *Track To Be Determined (Japan edition bonus track) Same thing on HMV JapanSo um, y'know watch this space, completists.

I wonder if Bernard will be crooning in Japanese again as he did so on Krafty on the Japanese edition of Waiting for the sirens call?

Or a Lost Sirens-esque release a few years later - Incomplete Music or something?

Will i be able to tell the difference when i play the HD download? Never heard music in HD format before. I'm no that clued up on FLAC/Lossless 96/124 / bitrates or whatever al that jargon is.Although i did learn from the FAQ that i'll need a media player like WinAmp or MediaMonkey to play the HD files.I do actually have WinAmp so i should be able to play the HD format in that right? Will i (someone with pretty normal hearing) be able to appreciate the difference over CD or MP3 quality?.Well i've ordered the deluxe box set which includes the HD download on 25th September so i'll be able to hear for myself.HD album downloads can take up to 5 hours because of the large file size is that right? Not too fussed about having to convert the HD files via dbPoweramp or whatever it's called so i can play in iTunes, not that interested with that so i'll just use WinAmp.Anyway, iTunes will "dither" the conversion down anyway as Notamod mentioned? Not worth the bother?
Anyway, when are we fricking going to hear a new single? Or are they actually going to release a single pre album release at all? Some vague mention of it as Instant Grat thing in August is all we know at the moment.

Not worth the bother? 44.1 kHz/16-bit I.e. CD quality is all 95% of people will ever need and providing it's a decent mastering will sound fantastic. HD formats can be a bit of a gimmick but they do allow people with serious Hi-Fi set-ups to own something resembling master tape quality. That is all. If you're not bothered about that (as typically 95% of people aren't) then just go with the CD and rip it via whatever you want. HD files can be converted down to MP3 format but the highest kHz range MP3 has is 48 which is the same as DVD audio. 24-bit will also be downscaled to 16 but will still sound pretty good for a compressed file so long as you do it at a high enough bit-rate (I.e. 256/320). iTunes and its formats have limitations and I personally have no time for them but I accept they're popular because so many people own iPhones. At the moment iTunes doesn't recognise the FLAC format so you'd need to use a conversion tool ( foobar2000) to get the FLAC into WAV (Windows) or AIFF (Mac OS X) format and from there you can tell iTunes to convert it to any of its formats (and MP3). If you simply want to play the FLAC then foobar2000 or WinAmp will do that for you. VLC Player also plays it and a lot of people have that installed to watch video files. Some vague mention of it as Instant Grat thing in August is all we know at the moment. I think in this day and age the 'instant grat tracks' are the new singles. It's not a bad way of doing it. I recently pre-ordered an album by an American Indie band and gradually received first 4 tracks off the album 1-2 months before the CD physically landed through the post. The band obviously wanted these tracks to be the 'singles' but they were never technically released as such. I see more and more bands adopting this approach and it's pretty much becoming the norm. It's a nice way of giving people a preview of the album without releasing the whole thing at once to have it instantly pirated... As for 'Music Complete' yes I believe we're getting one next month.

Thanks for the reply, NotAmod. Ah so really you'd really appreciate the HD if you have a serious hi fi..fair enough.Don't think i'll rush out and spend lots of money on a serious hi fi especially.I'll give it a spin in WinAmp though.Yeah i used to use VLC from time to time for video.

Update received via email today:
"Stay tuned for exciting news next week on the launch of the first single from the album. We're excited to be able to finally share the music with you."
I wonder if this will be just news about the single or if we'll actually get to hear it?

Yeah, I got that message an hour ago. The word 'finally' is pretty final, in my book. In other words, what has gone before (snippets) is about to be 'finally' shared fully. In this context, they must be talking about the WHOLE new single.
