That sounds great, can't wait to listen to the full album, the excitement is killing me, still have to wait 6 more weeks.
I bought the issue. Quite an in depth interview - 5 pages.
Talks about :-
Why he didn't cover much about the recording of Brotherhood and Low Life in his book (basically he felt it wasn't interesting to indulge in stories of hours and hours in the studio)
Stuff he covered in the book i.e childhood, growing up in Salford, Ian Curtis and JD
The problems surrounding tense relationships in the band while recording Republic
A little about Hooky but didn't like to say much and felt he said all he wanted to say on the subject is in the book.
Depression from hangovers on tour being the cause of bad gigs in the 80s
Sailing life
Interesting stuff about the recording of Get Ready and struggling at first with Steve Osborne's demands
He did take a "tiny, tiny, tiny " bit of LSD when writing the lyrics to Temptation and how that song and others felt like they were given to to him and the band as a gift (reminiscent of the Melody Maker interview from December 1988 in how he talked about writing songs felt like the songs came down from some greater power from above)
Oh there's loads in there - i could quite easily scan and post the whole thing but i don't want to get into trouble
