1. Are there three more terrifying words than 'New Order featuring'?
2. Would ingesting the hardest chemicals known to man align the possibility in the NO fans mind that even in the most extreme circumstances that New Order would feature Sergeant June Ackland's daughter on not one but two of their songs?
3. Could or should a band who's latest single is a dance cover of Springsteen's 'Born to Run' ever realistically be allowed to remix a New Order song?
4. In reference to point 3 should New Sumner have recorded a homage to Macclesfield's Ice Cream culture in 'Tutti Frutti' and if so should they allow a 5 man gaggle peddling Poor Man's Putney Electronica who coincidentally look like the type of men your Granny warned you about 'rework' it into a version that literally will not fit on a record. Is this remix incompetence?
5. Contractually do 'The Top Shop Boys' AKA Bass + Additional Guitar need to maintain a 3 feet background distance from the original members in all promotional interviews?

Final Point...

6. Considering New Order's hedonistic legacy and in respect of Brandon Flower's beliefs... He doesn't know, does he? Bless

Whose daughter she is shouldn't be relevant. Ellie is used for her voice. May not be to everyone's taste, but they're trying new things.

It's Dancing In the Dark (segued with LCD Soundsystem's All My Friends), not Born To Run. Personally I like Bruce and Hot Chip. Hot Chip were great at Brixton Academy last Friday. Al Doyle from the band was also incidentally a touring member of the splendid LCD Soundsystem.

Joe Goddard of Hot Chip is well respected in dance music circles and I urge anyone who hasn't heard it, to listen to his track Gabriel. The Tutti Frutti remix is just under 12 minutes long. Why 12 minutes of music can't fit on to one side of vinyl, I don't know. Take it up with the pressing plant or mastering people or something.

What I find truly inspiring about Mr. Tooth Ache is how damned positive he is. His words just lift me up, creating a warm and fuzzy feeling deep within my heart.

There's a different between realistic and pessimistic.
I'm normally the first to whinge about NO and Hooky in particular, but while 'One True Passion' is last on my wish list, I enjoyed the Freebass album. The EP was bollox but the LP was fine and given the amount of dross the fans've bought (Other Two and You, Rest Of, RTP) I'm surprised people always pick this one out as the nadir.
PS Three more terrifying words than 'New Order featuring': 'Melanie C marries'.

"Are there three more terrifying words than 'New Order featuring'?"

It's more than three but I'd say "Peter Hook And The Light Featuring Rowetta" That cover of Atmosphere really wasn't my cup of tea. I think the tooth ache must be getting worse.

Keep it coming, I am already a fan. Most creative output from the former one since the wftsc bass riff.

1. In the past, yes. But with this album, the guests work well. Perhaps New New Order have better collective taste than Old New Order when it comes to outside input. or perhaps it's just Gillian laying down the law about what works and what should really never be released. Whatever, this album is the first since her departure where there are no duff tracks, and no guest spots that should have hit the digital cutting room floor. I'm enjoying all the guest contributions more and more on this album.

2. Her vocals work on the tracks she is on. Properly work.

3. As an aside, John Cale's cover of All My Friends is brilliant. And I like the Pet Shop Boys version of Last to Die. Check them both out.

4. There is no law about the length of remixes. Check out James Murphy's brilliant remix of David Bowie's Love is Lost.

5. Tom is bang up front in the main promo shot for Music Complete.

6. Do you have a problem with Mormans? You don't have to have the same beliefs to enjoy each other's music.

It must be churning him up, 'New Odour' (hilarious Hooky - no, really) getting rave reviews and presumably selling a tidy amount of records whilst he punts his weak ass JD tribute band around to ever diminished returns. The ego and bitterness of the bloke are extraordinary.

He increasingly comes across as a deeply unpleasant person.

New Order featuring that big engine out of the Scissor Sister was shocking too.

I think I'd find a lot of muso's irritating company (although not the Morris' - someone should sign them up for Gogglebox) but I can live with that if I like their music. I liked both Monaco albums and, politics aside, Peter Hook And The Light Fandango are a good band so I can put up with the background noise I think.

I mean, everyone still likes Jake The Peg and Two Little Boys don't they?

You must just love being bitch slapped James, coming back for another dose so soon.

Good to see those Subtsance Tour tickets out almost a whole year before they're due to take place. Anyone might be forgiven for thinking your governor is in need of some cash. Those legal fees starting to bite eh?

I love those Monaco albums, do another Hooky & Pottsy! Whoever tooth ache is (nice punk name, btw), I'd love another bass-driven Brotherhood or Low-Life to come down the pike, but it's not. M.C. is a heck of an album though, different than old N.O., but what's everyone supposed to do, sit around and get boring like the Baby Boomers did?

Sounds pretty close to the mark. I doubt Hooky's tribute band could have sold out the Forum even when they were a novelty 5 years ago.

He goes on about money constantly and has proven time and again how avaricious and greedy he is. Selling pubes from the urinals of the Hac, etc etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if he starts getting conciliatory in his attitude towards 'New Odour' in the near future.

I also wouldn't be at all surprised if his 'legal action', which he's been going on about for years now, is a complete work of fiction that exists only in his mind.

He overplayed his hand, thinking he was the star of the band. He was very wrong in this. I've lost any respect I ever had for the bloke. As BS said in his book:=

'Don't look at what he says, look at what he does'.

While you're on Hooky, how come you've stopped visiting Newcastle on your tours? The M/PCL one was well attended, and it must have been fun to be in Harry's club, with a pile of Hac sound equipment around you. We're getting passed over by everyone at the moment, including New Order, but I didn't expect it from you...

Brandon's religious affiliation is completely irrelevant. I am a big fan of The Killers, and in NONE of their songs, albums, live shows, etc. does religion ever get a whiff of being mentioned or referenced to. I find that extremely refreshing, especially as I had no idea for years that they were mormons, and I have no time for religion generally speaking. I think they have done an excellent job of keeping their faith and their music completely separate. I reckon Brandon knows all about NO's pumped full of drugs past, he just doesn't care... :)

Yes, I'm too a huge fan of The Killers and I found Brandon & co. don't inflict any religious stuffs (though there were some minor hidden references in some lyrics but def non-imposing) onto audience. Brandon's vocal range & power is up there with Freddie Mercury. I was a casual fan in the early days but was converted when I saw them during their Sam's Town tour - I was totally struck then that I made my missus to join me on their gig on the following night. The Killers are up there in my list of best gigs I've been (after Oasis, oops sorry Tongue ...and New Order)
what a tutti frutti world of colours!!!

"NONE", you say?: When You Were Young

You could argue it's no more overt than Touched by the Hand of God (but I actually believe that title is a euphemism for having a particularly hearty erection).

Anywho! I like The Killers and they do put on a good show, indeed.
