Hooky is not only doing something for the music industry as a whole, he's doing something for people that dream of being musicians like him, who can't even read sheet music yet has become one of the most influential bass guitarists of all time. I just can't fathom how some here want to despise him even when he's doing something so noble. He may not have been a business genius, much like every other person at Factory Records, but that's exactly what makes him vital to such degree. He's going to be the artistic voice telling not to hear just producers and record label slaves wanting to make a quick buck with generic auto-tune'd crap that people listen to.
I may not agree with everything he says and do, but I have the utmost respect for him, for doing what he wanted to do and saying what he wants to say, unlike big sellout self-serving twats like Bono and Madonna.

''Some make money, others make history''
I'm sure Hooky's vision for this degree is to teach something in the middle, and I just can't criticize him for doing so.

And when you see him in Croatia - what will happen? A knock on the head? Should he be afraid now?

Yeah, that comment came across as aggressive to me too, is that where we are now? Threatening folk who are critical?

It's been a regular feature of Jack's posts for a couple of years. Hi

Perhaps you are right. I'd be surprised if we get any history-making though. Obvious point is that he is not going to do any of this for free. Good money in University lectures.

Blocking your old band's releases is a great way to financial security - NOT!

Or... is this one of the "mistakes" he'll be exploring in the course?

Uh oh
