48 OUT OF 50 48 New Order – ‘Music Complete’ We said: "‘Music Complete’ at last succeeds in doing the Manchester legends’ pioneering dance-rock legacy justice. It’s a continually surprising set, and their best since 1993’s ‘Republic’." http://www.nme.com/photos/nme-s...part-one/393989#/photo/1 |

Yes I've listened to MC for more than 50 spins since September and same goes for the extended mixes, possibly 20 spins now....and still love the album, soon every single beat & clicks will be absorbed into my veins, just like the album Brotherhood Having said that, unfortunately not many of my mates like MC - they all felt it was too electro.... Oh, besides MC, my current fave albums are by DIIV (shoegazer-meets-JD) and City Calm Down (Aussie-version of JD/Interpol). Edited by user 03 December 2015 13:54:02(UTC)

As I recall the issue that covered the album gave barely an inch of space to the review. Total balls. NME has completely gone to shit, as it happens. The latest issue has a big article about Grimes and she's the cover photo (good) - it's then advert-wrapped with Coldplay. The first relaunch issue had three big stories, and not one of them was music related. It's a poor imitation of Shortlist magazine now. By comparison the Q magazine retrospective on them was really insightful, and the album review was honest and great. Although I didn't get the hate for "Nothing But A Fool" :)

Q Magazine used to publish tobacco advertisements.
Do they still use e-cigarette advertising? |

http://www.nme.com/photos/ride-...-of-2015/395458#/photo/1New Order New Order’s first proper album since 2005 came in the shape of the guest-packed ‘Music Complete’. Iggy Pop, La Roux and Brandon Flowers all featured on this heavy-duty return to form, which also saw them roping in The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands on production duties. |

The reviewers are nearly in unison that MC is the best since before Get Ready and WFTSC . There are about 35 great songs from that era 1998- 2005 , and all are, for me at least, in a constant rotation with nearly every other neworder song . The early years offered excitement that rivaled all their peers , but the last 17 years have seen neworder establish a consistency of excellence that has absolutely shell shocked those old rivals , in effect rendered the peer group nonexistent. |

Love MC, especially Academic and Tutti Frutti, but the PIL album just pips it for me this year. These things are totally subjective and meaningless anyway. Recently FHM (so it must be true) had the top 100 ladies. No Melanie C or Cameron Diaz was bad enough, but yes to Nicki Minaj, the ''''''lady'''''' who puts the women's rights movement back 396183932 years. Grrr. This 'best since Technique' line sounds cool but all it means is even better than the three-in-25-years efforts spawning 'Liar', 'Rock The Shack' and 'Working Overtime' respectively. What an achievement. Edited by user 24 December 2015 00:56:55(UTC)
