I understand that it is so groovy to meet other musicians and collaborate. The Chem bro Rowland and Bernard did good with here to stay and out of control, but unlearn hatred is a huge turd . But more important is superheated . The song is good when Bernard sings , but the Flower's guy is mainstream for old ladies in their 80's, or preteens. I have not listened to either song since the first week of release . Also- Neil Tennant's voice was ok and those Electronic songs are fine. I ask why didn't Bernard ask Justin Hayward , Steve Winwood, David Gilmour, Mick Jagger , or Ian McCulloch, or Art Garfunkle to sing instead of the Flowers guy. Maybe Bernard could at least rerecord it without flowers voice anywhere near it. Or the singers from blue cheer , GBH , MC 5 , or acdc would be ok. |

A matter of opinion, methinks.... I like Brandon Flowers' voice and I have great respect for The Killers and what they've achieved since 2001. The idea behind using 1. Iggy Pop, 2. Elly Jackson and 3. Brandon Flowers on this album is that they all have had a relationship (influenced by/influence on) with Joy Division or New Order over the past years: http://www.theguardian.c...music-complete-new-albumNow, Mick Jagger woulda sounded shit on Superheated, but again that's my opinion :)

Maybe you don't have it or haven't heard it but the extended mix of Superheated on the box set is almost Brandon free; It's all Bernard on the chorus, no Brandon. But Brandon does jump on board for the "Now that it's over" part nearer the end.

Thanks, I think Andy wrote about amoeba in sf having the box set. It is a gorgeous song and Brandon has a great voice, but there is a warmth that bernard has, or something. The best example was "patience of a saint". Tenant began and it was ok, and when Bernard 's turn came everything was right with the world. Thousand thanks for prompting the box set purchase. All the best to everyone . |
