How very arty! So if you're a member you can book tickets to the "gig" bit today, but membership costs £55 quid. Ouch. As a non-member, tickets appear to be £45. Unusual ticket queueing system (BTW off-topic, why do North Americans say line-up instead of queue?) This is the info you get once you have been allowed through the "Queue-it" bit: (EDIT: whiich I now realise is on the lower RHS of the original screen. Oops) Quote: MIF17 Members tickets on sale Thu 9 March 2pm Public tickets on sale Fri 10 March 1pm To join as a Member click here

My mail doesn't say anything about being a member, just has unique fan pre sale code and says I can redeem this from 7pm tonight - cost £45

My e mail also says nothing about membership which is a bit steep for 1 gig Up for it though, should have seen them in the Granada studios for free 36 years ago but that's another story. So 7 tonight. Get ready

Snagged a ticket using the code. Could only get a Thursday ticket. Both Saturdays were sold out. Tried from 7pm, but was 521st in the queue. By the time I got to number 1, the Saturdays were sold out.
Still, I have a ticket and am pretty happy.
I'll just have to make it a long, boozey weekend. No hardship. 😁

What I found especially interesting was this:
"For New Order + Liam Gillick: So it goes.., the group will be deconstructing, rethinking and rebuilding a wealth of material from throughout their career: familiar and obscure, old and new."
Maybe this won't be the usual 'hits' gig. Not that I mind hearing the hits but would be great to hear things like Dream Attack, Ultraviolence, Truth etc.

For once I he cod worked. Took some time once into the site but tickets sorted for sat 1st July. Sounds like something different again looking forward to it immensely. Off to see Hooky The Light at rock city on Saturday and The Jesus and Mary chain in a couple of weeks in Manchester and Kraftwerk London in June so all in all an excellent Spring / summer lined up

I'm hoping for a nicely put together live album after these gigs, not one of those wanky thrown-together-on-the-night affairs, a decent one.
If anybody important is reading this shut up and take my money etc etc

Presumably, all the tickets went by 10:01 this morning when put on bot sale. Still tempted to go up there and buy from a tout.

Didn't get a ticket and too busy with other matters at moment and for foreseeable to try but i'll see nearer the time if i feel like taking a chance and going up and getting a ticket outside off a tout, preferably one of the Saturday night shows. On a related i just watched in entirety the old 1981 at Granada Celebration thing .Think i've seen or have all the songs they did but had never watched them all, in order they were performed, all together before. It was almost like watching for the first time.It really is a great watch viewed in entirety, someone had uploaded to YouTube sometime back.On re watching , Gillian kicked out some great sounds from her guitar.Wow.

They've been touring a greatest hits set for years and get criticised for not doing the deep cuts (whilst Hooky goes out and does exactly that). Now they're going to do some deep cuts and some new twists on them, and they're going to get shade thrown at them for that too. Originally Posted by: Michael Monkhouse Fuck you. Yeah, indeed! And in a certain way they're still looking for something "new"... for them at least. These gigs at MIF seem really exciting: background visuals that reacts to the music, a 12-piece synth orchestra on stage, just 12 songs they've usually do not play and with new arrangements... It looks much more a moving-forward thing than anything else that Hooky is doing now. They're still looking for different experiences and that is cool. Edited by user 13 March 2017 14:06:01(UTC)
