What would Bloomberg (I think it's a business site/publication) know about music and concerts? In other words, ignore the shit, and move on. We know what good music is, they don't.

I'm starting to think the band do have to take some of the blame for the sound mixing. I saw the Mondays at Brixton later on in May (having been to the second NO night) and the sound mixing was so much better for the Mondays, i just thought: you cant blame the venue. I've seen Blondie a couple of times in recent years and not been impressed by their sound either. Maybe it's difficult to sack your sound man if they have been with you for some time, but both NO and Blondie could do better IMO.

The Horrors played Brixton recently and a lad I know who was at the NO gig, said they had the same challenges which NO faced.
To be honest, I don't understand the technicalities at play here to offer an informed opinion. But there is a growing list of bands here that are having difficulties at Brixton and how come they don't have sound issues at other venues? Certainly New Order don't.

I think the real problem is the reviewer didn't even see New Order. Either that, or this was ghost written by Peter Hook.

from all the videos and bootlegs i've heard so far..
the reviewer is right in many ways..
the greatest hits shows don't show off the great catalogue of songs they have
newer versions of the songs don't sound great compared to any of the older versions.. (except maybe 586)...
go listen to any of the recent concerts posted at the new order stash archive, and you'll hear a lot better concerts.
bernard used to be a lot more adventurous fun, and unique, with lots of improvs, and adlibs. with interesting things to say. he sure doesn't do that anymore..
yeah, a few songs still have some strength in them..
with all that being said,
i'm still going to see them live at least once..
hopefully, they'll be a lot better than i expect, but i don't have very high expectations..
i've seen them twice before in 1985, and 1987.. and the 1985 show was amazing.. the 1987 show was just average...
