Does anyone have any info on the PCL (silver vinyl) and Closer (white vinyl) releases sold at the Manchester Art Gallery?
Bit of an odd one, i hadn't heard anything about them until i stumbled across some on eBay at obviously extortionate prices.
i'm guessing they won't be available online anywhere. Anyone buy one?

I saw them in the shop at Manchester Art Gallery when i visited the True Faith exhibition the other day. Limited edition silver vinyl of PC&L and limited edition white vinyl of Closer.I mean, i didn't actually see the vinyl as they were wrapped but the sticker on the front gave the info. The sleeve of the PC&L isn't die-cut like the original PC&L so for me the asking price £35 (same price for the Closer one) wasn't worth it.

You do get them however in a thick plastic sleeve thing with True Faith/MIF etc written on it.

I think it stated 1,000 of each were made. The shop limits purchases to 2 per person each buy but i'm sure ebay wankers are more than experienced at getting around that small obstacle to obtain many copies to flog for ridiculous prices.

Thanks for that, yes i'm sure that can be easily bypassed. I really don't need another PCL or Closer but my obsessive NO collector brain kicks in and i need them!! (i know i don't obviously but i do!). Its quite annoying actually, i wish i couldn't care less.

Bernard: I think it's great to look forward, so I'm concentrating on looking back now. I want to move on by going back to the old songs, because it's important to write new material you've already written. It's like Joy Division - we didn't want to play Joy Division because it felt wrong, so we started playing Joy Division instead and it felt awesome! I want to do an instrumental version, which is great cos I'll get to sing for the first time again. Singing after Gillian hung her rabbit in a kitchen was tough because it was all about Ian, and I find that kind of thing easier cos it had nothing to do with Curtis. It's like Steve, who wasn't even in the group, has always been very much a part of this band. I'm really looking forward to Hooky coming back, but there's always the sadness of knowing it'll be without Hooky, and that makes me laugh. He's wrong to do an international tour of old material: he should be touring old material internationally. Anyway, 2085 was a great year for New Ordered, and I'm looking forward to 1976! Roll on, Summer! I also like Joy Division, but that's for later and before my time. It's all bridge over the waters then.

My collector brain kicked in and I got them. Heavy weight vinyl. I've always wanted the rough trade marbled vinyl which goes for silly money now so though I would treat myself. Closer and pc&l are 2 of my favourite albums of all time so it's nice to get them on limited vinyl. The diver is more of a grey. Must agree though they should have put the die cut in pc&l and made the Closer a textured sleeve to make them more special.

They are limited to a 1000 copies so definitely an investment. Good recordings both of them. My originals pop and crackle due to age.
