Since I'm moving to streaming life style (Netflix, Spotify, PSN) I just don't wanna own anything. I don't care if a video game is dirt cheap at the store, I will only download it. I threw most my music collection. I only kept my NO collection. The rant I'm making is almost every other band has everything on Spotify, And I'm guessing Apple Music. Who cares about Tidal. And when I say everything I'm talking about all singles and everything that is on them. And all albums even deluxe albums. But not New Order. They just give you their basic albums (no substance, no special editions). Only their MC singles. No sessions, live albums (except BBC 1987). They do have Brotherhood special edition but none of the others. They are missing most substance songs and all b sides. 7 inch total version of temptation is the only version you can listen too. I'm willing to listen to them on Spotify so they can get a few coin from my streaming, but what I mostly listen to is not there. Temptation 98 is my 1st chioice for temp not the 7 inch version. They don't even have the full version of the perfect kiss, just the edit. And Hooky has all his live cds on there. Taylor Swift who pulled her music from Spotify, came back because that is where the money is. What I just want to say is: get with it, and update your crap. So I'm just going to listen to my MP3's where you will get no money from streaming. Edited by user 09 August 2017 08:52:55(UTC)

There's no money in it, so not much reason to care.

I don't get the need to bin physical media, I really don't. If at some point firms decide to quadruple to price to stream music because they've sussed that most people have got rid of their MP3s, CDs, records and cassettes and are now stuck with listening to it in that manner then you can't really blame them, it's a logical business decision. Enjoy those exorbitant costs to listen to stuff you used to listen to for free.

Yep, why on earth would you sell or bin your record collection? Totally baffling but hey, we live in baffling times

Digitize your shit and just play it back from your device of choice. Or, make a playlist from your collection at home stream your library whenever you're away and on the go.

I use Apple Music. Think it's got more choice regarding new order.
As for physical media, yeah I agree it serves little purpose and only takes up room. Why would anyone want to keep it baffles me. But hey ho
It's a nightmare copying CD's onto iTunes l, to then upload to iTunes, to then copy to device. Life's too short for that shit. I don't even own a stereo or CD player and last CD I bought was about 10 years ago.

Why would anyone want to keep stuff they've had most of their life, be it photos or posessions from younger or teenage years, or records owned since teenage years.Yeah, why on earth would anyone want to keep anything like that? Baffling. Hey ho. Edited by user 10 August 2017 12:51:47(UTC)

All media (music, ebooks, etc) I choose to carry around is on a removable 32GB microcard inserted into either my phone or Nook.
For me, all I do is drag the files to copy over. Easy peasy. It doesn't need to be complicated as some people can make it to be.
As for keeping physical media? Individual choice. I haven't kept everything I've ever bought, but the only way I'd get rid of *everything* is if a natural or un-natural disaster happened. Until that happens, my pre-tween Son is inheriting it all.
