Peter Hook Version sounds really nice http://www.slicingupeyeballs.co...dancing-madly-backwards/“I just done a track with one of Kraftwerk. I’ve also done another track, a cover version (funnily enough) called ‘Dancing Madly Backwards’ by Captain Beyond. It’s a song from the ’70s from a record label in America. It turned out really, really well. The guys phoned me up and said. ‘Fancy doing an LP in that style?’ [laughs]. I do a lot of new music, but I’m pretty shit at letting people know about it.” Edited by user 09 August 2017 08:31:55(UTC)

My problem with Hooky side projects is I don't like his low slung voice! He has said more than once, he doesn't want to sing, yet it doesn't stop him "ruining everything"...

Good take on it. I'd much rather hear Hooky do new music than do substance (tho I like that too). Never been much of a Ministry fan - their style hasn't changed a bit in 20, 30 years, has it?

I have to be BRUTALly honest and say I enjoy Light gigs less and less. Out here in the Eternal City it's nearly always JD - even the Movecunt / Power, Cuntuption and Lies performancunt started with JD - and I'd rather hear more NO. JD tracks are probably more adapted to his, um, voice, and I'm not saying they're worse or better, but (a) it's getting repetitive and (b) the NO stuff is closer to home for me cos it's what I was always listening to. I guess it's marketing: tell an Italian Hooky's doing the legendary JD début; now tell him he's doing Revenge and Republic... I'll still go to the next show.

A Capt. Beyond And Beyonce song tour - Hooky can clean up. The sky is the limit. And imagine Tutti Frutti by the new new order as interpreted by the Light, aka New Joy . It could represent Italy in the EuroVision song contest, or at least get played on Sophia Loren's Birthday, or Italy's independence day , or both. |
