Tuesday 21st November, Rough Trade East Records in London. Maybe Mr Miller will answer your NO and Depeche Mode related questions.
The book that they're promoting clearly includes the recent MC & related singles artwork.

Details HERE.

If I wasn't going to see Grandmaster Flash on Monday night, and Depeche Mode on the Wednesday, I'd go to this, but I'm going too old and easily knackered to stretch to three trips into London in the space of three days so I'll have to pass.

got the book and the cd today. the cd is pretty plain, and nothing of interest really - new order - restless is on there, theres something by cabaret voltaire and erasure also.
the book is autographed by daniel miller, which is a nice touch.

the book is great, 300+ pages, on a great stock, and a cool flexible binding.

pretty much every era from the late 70's up until now is covered, all the major groups have sections.
there's a lot of depeche mode in there of course.

my only complaint is that groups that have a lot of material, and singles, get a very small compressed look at the singles,
only some major releases from each group get a page or two devoted to those.

considering how much material there is, it's a very good overview.

i haven't read all the text, but skimmed through it.

there is very little new order content, besides 2 pages of the artwork from music complete, and thats about it.

well worth getting for music fans that like the mute label, and art fans.

Is Mute a 'proper' indie label these days? I thought Daniel Miller sold the company (or the name at least) to one of the majors 10 or 15 years back - probably why there is so little stuff about New Order in this book, they came on board long after Mutes 'glory' days. Looking at the Rough Trade site, it was only Miller signing the book at that event, I would have wanted it signed by Anton Corbijn too, so I'm not that bothered I missed out.

Great book, and the event was pretty good too.

Got mine signed by all the speakers including Anton Corbijn, who was a lovely bloke and very funny too.
