Nooooooooooo!
Gah! Why the Hell didn’t they play this at the Ally Pally?
Yes - I know they did a virtually unprecedented 21 songs, but I’d have sacrificed a couple of songs for the wondrous AoC.
Looks like they swapped out Love Vigilantes, which wouldn’t have been my choice to swap out, as that’s bloody brilliant too. As a fan, I’d have followed Love Vigilantes with Age of Consent (get the crowd buzzing, especially after the superb ‘instant classic’ Singularity) and sacrificed one of the later tracks (Waiting For The Sirens’ Call maybe).
Age of Consent is, alongside Thieves Like Us, Everything’s Gone Green, Hurt, 1963, 586 and Sunrise, one of the songs that I’ve never experienced live that I most want to hear (I know 586 has been regularly performed since the reformation but, for some reason, they disappointedly skipped it at Wolves Civic in 2015).
Ah well, maybe I’ll get to see any of the above next time I see them.
New Order, if you’re reading this, get some UK dates booked for next year, please... you God-like geniuses, you.
