I will never buy anything from anywhere without thinking, I wonder if Hooky once claimed to own this. EG: If I purchased a tea towel, id wonder if Hooky claimed Ian once dried a cup up with it.

Is there no limit to this?

That Boney M flight case for example with the stencilled words JOY DIVISON lol . Hooky claimed all thier equipment was stolen in America, now it seems a flight case survived. Make your own mind up. I certainly have, as have Barney and Steve!

Oh and whoever purchased the autographed Ideal For Living Single HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA , just sign it Martin Hannet, yourself and sell it on lol lol

Either this was a really bad joke on my part or nobody got the reference—probably the former (apologies if that was the case)!

I missed the reference, sorry. Is it a quote from something? I'm probably being stupid and it's obvious.

Jeremy Vine apparently. He is clearly far too well paid. You may recall I mentioned him in NO Spotting a little while ago (the clip of the Adams family dancing to Disorder).

or read The Daily Mail's transcript of the above because...easy story. Click.

Hmmm. ‘Mystery band member’?
Well, discounting Hooky as he is unlikely to scupper his own auction, that leaves two of them.

Bearing in mind that Steve, the band’s percussionist, has already revealed how the sound was made (with scissors and a tambourine and without any chimes) my money’s on him.

If it is Steve, I wouldn’t think he’s being vindictive at all. Just that he doesn’t want fans to get ripped off buying fake merchandise.
I also think it’s quite possible that Hooky, who may not have been present when the sound was created, believed (wrongly) that chimes were used.

How much can you believe of a Daily Mail article anyway.

Jeremy Vine’s Radio 2 show was on at work today and i caught him mention that he did play the chimes on Atmosphere at Hook & The Light’s show at Royal Albert Hall last Friday night. He said Joy Division are his favourite band ever but then I’m sure he says that The Jam/Smiths/Elvis Costello are his favourite whenever he plays them.
