Yeah - my bad. I missed that link.
As they walked on to to the song, we can pretty much eliminate the track from getting a 'full band performance' at the next two shows.

Agreed with the band not really 'performing' the track at the MiF gigs, but I still class this as a 'live' version of the song as it was played 'live' on stage (as opposed to a recorded piece) and was performed by musicians who were integral to the whole project. Effectively, for those MiF gigs, the synth orchestra were part of the band.

I'm also in agreement about the rapping on Times Change sounding pretty dated. I was never a fan of the track anyway really. Although the music was good, the rapping always sounded a little bit rubbish to me (unlike Bernard's rapping on 'Idiot Country' two years previous, which I thought was great!).

Cheers Andy!

So, 'Ceremony', 'Superheated', 'World' & 'Superheated' are 'new' to the Miami gigs.

31 different songs played over 3 nights and counting...

I don’t see them doing a proper full band performance. While I love the music and the chorus, the rapping verses have not aged well at all.

I went to the gig on the 14th and the back drop to Times Change was shots of Miami from years gone by, it really got the atmosphere going. That's the first time Ive seen the band abroad and didn't know what to expect atmosphere wise but it turned out to be superb, no pogoing but wall to wall dancing. I had a great time.

We know you meant People on the High Line.

You can now add The Perfect Kiss, Regret and Turn My Way to the Miami tally.

According to the setlist Andy posted, they did play TPK.

So 34 tracks over 4 nights in total. That's really, very, very good.
Anyone who went to every night will have been suitably rewarded.

Oh, Turn My Way. When I first read that earlier on i read it as Turn, from WFTSC. Blame the hangover. Turn would have been a bit of a surprise but Turn My Way is an even bigger surprise. I’m guessing Billy Corgan didn’t make a guest appearance. So am assuming Bernard sang all the lyrics.

Haven't had time to watch this yet, but there's 2h43m video of footage from the four gigs, along with the New Order Day Ceremony and meeting Sumner etc. on YouTube. Looks pretty good from the clips I've seen.

Due to having some issues logging into this site on my phone while I was over there (and it eating up data at a frightening rate) I haven't had a chance to comment on this until now. Just like I suspected, it wasn't an amazing difference to the show I saw them play in Paris, so I'm glad I didn't fork out for more than one show (someone I was talking in the bar at the Delano where I was staying while over there was trying to persuade me to go and get a ticket for the Saturday show as well but they were talking about paying a couple of hundred dollars to do so and that was never going to happen) All the band seemed to really be enjoying themselves (although I was in the second level pit and couldn't get a decent view of Stephen from where I was stood)

A couple of gripes: having to pay $17 for a pint of beer (I don't want to taste Monk In A Trunk again for the rest of my days), the epic queues for the merchandise stand (I wanted to get one of the white New Order Miami t-shirts but didn't want to spend all night lining up for one, and by the time he band were due to go onstage, the queue was no better and only had them left in 3XL which would be like a smock on me so I left it, Arthur Bakers 2 DJ sets either sided of Rockers Revenge were a bit...Smile (I'm still undecided on Rockers Revenge themselves, I liked Walking On Sunshine but the rest of it was all a bit Americas Got Talent to be honest)

I'm glad I went (some of the locals couldn't believe I'd flown all that way to see New Order), and hopefully some UK shows will follow before the end of the year.

Yeah, beer was ridiculously dear in there. I bought one round for $133 on the Friday night! Ouch Black eye

Only time I chanced the merchandising queue was the very first night - and in the middle of the set! - and then only for a t-shirt for a mate I'd promised back home. That military green one with the US flag which, in fairness, is absolutely gorgeous.

Biggest 'surprise' of the week was Guilt featuring every single night. But then, Barney said something I didn't quite catch on the 2nd night about them only usually playing it at MIF and it moving into the regular set. I guess the band enjoy playing it? In fairness, it boasted way more bass from Tom than ever made it to record so sounded better than I remember.

Good to see Touched again - that was a bolt from the blue! Shame we only got it once. Shame also, as they'd obviously put some effort into a video to accompany it.

Turn My Way was an interesting choice as well.

Loved Miami though. Was good to get away for sun so early in the year!

With regards to merch, a link to it went up on the NO Instagram page on Friday: no sign of the aforementioned white t-shirts, but looking at the green ones (which I didn't see on sale the night I went), the tshirt was about $20 but they wanted well over $50 to ship it to the UK, so at that price they can bugger right off, that s just taking the piss, unless one of the band is going to hand deliver it to me.

A nice thought.

Not so nice: There are better odds of Michael Monkhouse hand delivering over a picture of Sporty Spice.
