Cheers Andy!
Only UK gig of 2020. Bah! That's annoying. I think I'll have to go then.

I'll see how much tickets are before committing to this : I don't want to do standing but if the blocks nearest the side of the stage are reasonably priced, I'm in there (Radiohead in 2012 was very reasonably priced for an arena show , but Depeche Mode the last time they played there was ridiculously expensive): I just don't like the standing area in the O2, it is usually full of people who only seem to be there to get pissed on vastly overpriced Budweiser, talk shit all the way through the headliners set, take blurry selfies of themselves and their mates and film vast swathes of the show from miles back on their phones (I have a feeling Madison Square Garden will be exactly the same so probably for the best I can't afford the costs of a trip to NYC for that).

Hmm... can New Order fill a 20,000 venue in the UK? Don’t think they’ve ever played a capacity that size in uk even back in their late 80s prime. Wembley Arena 87 (12,000 ?)was maybe their biggest (2006 half the place was curtained off after not selliing nearly enough tickets). Funny thing is they probably could sell out a venue of 20,000 in other countries like the U.S. but here in UK? Mind you, gig goers are more enthusiastic about attending gigs than they were some years ago and New Order’s live reputation among the wider public has improved massively over recent years. They may have to heavily advertise this one though. Not sure I’ll bother but I’ll see. Edited by user 25 February 2020 07:03:18(UTC)

Agree this does see, a massive venue for them to fill. I think Jodrell Bank in 2013 was 10000 people as I think Ali Pali is, there the 2 biggest gigs I’ve seen new order play along with NEC way back.
I was going to stand, never been to this venue before, is standing as bad as the previous comments, what’s the view like standing? If I do sit do most people still stand as I’m not a fan sitting at gigs particularly new order.

I know I moaned about standing in the O2 but I bit the bullet and booked standing in the O2 Priority presale this afternoon: 'only £65.50' per ticket. I didn't want to pay any more than that so I am reasonably happy (I just need to remember not to get too pissed in any of the other bars in the O2 and get in at a reasonable time so I don't end up right at the back).

Where can I buy pre-sale tickets ? Will these be cheaper or more expensive than the standard ones being released on Friday?

Thanks. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow.
I'm sure they won't sell out, but I don't want to have to sit down at a New Order gig. I did that at the Olympia gig in 2001 and it was no fun at all (although, on the positive side, we were sitting pretty close to Gillian, who was in the audience having just left the band).

I'm sure they won't sell out, but I don't want to have to sit down at a New Order gig. Back in 2018 I saw The Chemical Brothers at Ally Pally and then a month later I saw NO at Ally Pally. About 3 months ago (30th Nov) the Chems played the O2. When they first announced the gig I thought: that's gonna be too big for them, I should be able to get last minute standing tickets if I wanna go. Standing tickets sold out in under two hours. I kinda feel like NO have followed the Chems from Ally Pally to the O2. I was checking the Twickets website in the week prior to the Chems gig last November, confident there would be lots of cheap tickets washing around (even if not standing). I was wrong. I didn't go.

Here in San Francisco they've gone from:
The Fox in 2011 (2,800 - sold out in a day) The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in 2014 (8,500) Berkeley's Greek Theater 2017 (8,500) Chase Center 2020 (18,000)
New Order is a huge draw in the Bay Area, and paired with Pet Shop Boys, I bet they come close to selling out. I know during the presale nearly all the floor and a chunk of lower area has gone.
I think their reputation as a live act has continued to climb, and they're finally reaching "that level."

Oh yeah forgot about that one .Also MEN Arena Dec 98.Didn't realise capacity there is 15,000 or so.Didn't think it was that big the couple of times i've been .Although there was support from the likes of Underworld who were also pretty big at that time and they actually played after NO.The only reason i know MEN Arena holds 15,000 is it was mentioned in ab article today about a new concert arena in Manchester with a 23,500 capacity was announced today.

Gutted it’s cancelled but not surprised. It is looking like autumn 2021 may be the earliest large concerts are going to be allowed. Going to see The Jesus and Mary Chain do darklands but that has been moved to feb 2021 I’m now thinking that may be too early for gigs. We’ll see Edited by user 21 May 2020 06:59:16(UTC)

Support act for the O2 confirmed as Fujiya and Miyagi: I have only heard a couple of their songs, one of which is their cover of Your Silent Face on the Mojo album of covers of Power, Corruption and Lies that came out 9 years ago (I didn't know they were still going, to be honest).
