Anything's easier than following up Mucous Complete https://www.talkhouse.co...ris-remixes-a-maps-song/

Was just about to post that. Had not listened to Maps before. Quite good.

Really pleased to see this collaboration.
Been a fan of Maps since his first album and had the pleasure to see him live last year (+ say hello).
Great mix too, lots going on... and worth a listen.

Its...OK but I wouldn't be in a rush to listen to it again. I've seen Maps play live a couple of times and the only tune that I could honestly say was good is It Will Find You, the bulk of his other stuff just seems a bit too non descript for my liking I'm afraid (my favourite remix he has done is A Wooden Box by Factory Floor but I don't really know how many remixes hes done to be honest)

The Other Two's remix of Reverse The Curse by Shadowparty is also pretty good. Seems like yesterday it was released but has in fact been almost 2 years now. As for Maps, can't speak highly enough of the work Chapman has put out over the years and "We Can Create" is a genuine electro/shoegaze classic. For the most recent LP he broadened his horizons by writing orchestral arrangements and expanding the sound. Just Reflecting is a tune and a half, especially when played loud on big speakers. I hadn't heard the Factory Floor remix myself, although I note it's on the "New Order Presents Be Music" compilation so I'll give that a spin this afternoon. To be honest, I struggled a little bit with FF for the same reason it sounds like you struggled with Maps.

Yes, I meant Steve (I posted at God knows what time in the early hours of the morning in an 'I've got no work to go to in the morning state' of mind so apologies if I didn't appear clear with what I was saying) He produced Real Love for FF as well as remixing A Wooden Box. I like Factory Floor but you definitely need to see them live to appreciate them, but they haven't done anything for two or three years so I don't even know if they're still going: Gabe Gurnsey brought out his own album last year which I thought was great when he performed it at the album launch at Elektrowerkz, but I saw him open for Doves at Somerset House in the summer and wasn't so impressed.

Agreed, his first and most recent albums are utterly brilliant. There's some good stuff in between as well.
