Hey, did you know the lyrics to Way of Life can be sung perfectly to the tune of Face Up? Try it, it’s fun!

There used to be a printer at my workplace that had "Face Up" as an instruction for paper on top.I'd often think "Oh how i cannot bear the thought of you! Whooh!" whenever i saw it.True story dat.

‘Face Up’ used to be one of my least favourite NO songs back in the day.
However, I’ve really warmed to it over the years. It’s a fun song.
If you listen to the bootlegs, it always sounds brilliant live.

Face Up was immense for me right from very first listen back in 1985.Wonderful melodic Hooky bass, really energetic drums from Steve and even that erm, Hazell Dean/Evelyn 'Champagne' Thomas like Hi-NRG bass sequencer is irresistible. Oh and great hilarious lyrics by Barney.

Well, i was never too keen on the chaotic nature of it. Sounds a bit messy. Also, it’s one of Bernard’s worst vocal performances of the period, IMHO. Really strained.
As much as anything I think it was difficult to appreciate it when comparing it to other songs on the LP. However good it might be, it ain’t no Love Vigilantes, The Perfect Kiss, This Time Of Night, Sunrise or Elegia.
Even a bar of solid gold, is going to look ordinary next to the Crown Jewels.
