Yeah - it was remastered/restored by the legendary Analog Loyalist.

Was listening to it for the umpteenth time yesterday.

It has everything.

Great setlist.
Excellent performance.
Weird sound effects throughout.
Magnificent Temptation & Everything's Gone Green.
Rare three song segue of 5-8-6/Temptation/Everything's Gone.
A very rare cover version of 'When I'm With You' (which they never did before or since); brilliant and chaotic
Fab Bernard comments, such as 'This is why we don't do encores' and 'This is a bad idea'.

This probably marks one of the first times the band were ‘playful’, indulging in a cover version in a wacky way.
A lot of the ‘82 performances were much more serious affairs, IIRC.

Dunno about prove you wrong but a few favourites of mine over the years were:

Kilkenny April 83.The original Radio 1 broadcast Dec 83 was my first introduction to the chaos and madness of New Order live.Taped it off the radio and played it for months afterwards .Temptation a real juggernaught on this one and the break dwon to just Steve's genius drumming at the end is fab.Is an FM broadcast technically a bootleg or are bootlegs classed only as audience recordings? Dunno

Volskhaus , Zurich 2.4.84.Obtained the FM recording of this around 1987 and it became a another favourite of mine in that era.Temptation again a highlight, this version had an incessant beat and intensity and an early version of Sooner Than You Think then called Aleph i think.

Cologne 2002.Supporting , er, Robbie fucking Williams.Jeez.We'll airbrush that fact out i think, eh? Hilarious onstage comments from Bernard " Anyone like dance music? No? Anyone like marching music?.... " and "Hello! You all having a good time here in Cologne? It doesn't fucking look like it.... you better sort your lives out else we'll play something you really don't like" and then proceeds in Your Silent Face to say " think of the mountains in Bavaria... skiing! naked saunas! ... i was gonna say something else then but i won't".Then in BM "This is Blue Monday. It's about the porno channels in German hotels" Temptation " This is a very famous song in England, it's a song about picking yer nose, which you Germans obviously never do and it's also about cutting yer toenails..."


Brixton 2005 - "Joy Division New Order forever, get that tattooed on yer arse!"

Hollywood Palace November 86 " I've always wanted to be American...You Americans get so excited...it's wonderful"

Oh i realise this has degenerated into some of Bernard's best ever onstage quips.

To be fair, I was probably being a bit gung-ho when I posted that. Blame strong beer and an undying love of New Order.



I'm pretty sure that gig was where Bernard got the 'Your country is a wonderful place...' etc. used in the studio version, via the usual stream of consciousness that he used in those days. Switzerland is pretty expensive, as we know and he actually uses the country name is this live version.
I guess he liked the sentiment and decided to keep them in the studio version.

Luckily he didn't keep the other words, which describe everyone living in the country as... well, a very rude word.

My personal favourite is the whole 'I've Got A Cock Like The M1' title for TPK debut, plus lyrics to go along with it. Madness.

Very good points. I would add the quality of the recording to that list, which is important to me on a bootleg.

Other personal favourites are Rochdale 1980, Barcelona 1984, Hollywood 1986 and my absolute favourite: Reading '93.

Not sure but aren't Grateful Dead the most bootlegged band ever?

Anyway , yeah many many great New Order boots over the years. I can never work out why I didn't start collecting the cassettes earlier in the 80s. I used to see the ads in the backpages of NME every week from when I started buying the rag around 83-84 but for some reason never bothered sending off for a list until late 1986- early 87. When I got the first list back in the post there were so many to choose from I didn't know where to start. I remember getting the cassette around summer 87 of the July 83 Hacienda gig. Back then I thought the audio quality was fantastic and a great setlist .

I could mention 1989-06-30 - Poplar Creek, IL/US but I do have an issue regarding the Technique era boots since the arrangements sound so bland and lacklustre, even with a good recording.
