What was your favourite NO year?
Mine was 1986, saw them loads, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Sheffield, London - really varied setlists and full of simmering onstage metrosexuality with shorts and bare chests haha.
It's been downhill ever since!

1983 mostly because not only did it cement their place in musical history forever, with blue monday, and power corruption and lies. they were also at their peak of touring, nothing has come close since that year. with 1985 being second. low life was great, and the perfect kiss is the only thing that could match blue monday. its been all downhill from there. later -1 Edited by user 06 August 2022 13:18:52(UTC)

Very good question.
Living in it at the time and obsessed with new order it would have to be technique album of 1989. Second would be 1986/7 when I discovered them brotherhood / then substance.
Looking back now artistically at the band it would be 1983.

Always interesting and I suppose depends where we were in our lives. I first heard them on J Peel in 1981 I think, EGG/Procession and taped it. Managed to buy Temptation 7" about 6 months later and didn't look back.
Honourable mentions for 1983, 1985 (the first 6 months ha) and 1989.
