According to Twitter, the midset surprises were

Confusion
World In Motion (with John Barnes)

.... been 14 years and 10 years since either of those were aired if correct!

which it isnt. neither of those got played.

the only 'surprise' was round and round...

and looking at the setlist from birmingham it mirrors that.

nice review that one, I particularly liked : Somehow I can't imagine Ian Curtis excitedly yelling "C'mon!" in the middle of it if he was still singing it.
I know, you know, we believe in a chosen few ...

Interesting - all those people slagging off the sound.
Must have been their first NO concert :).

I was positioned half way between the mixing desk and the stage and thought the sound was alright.
I did notice it was terrible once you went in under the overhang to get a drink though.

been to the 3 this week, Birmingham and 2 Brixtons. Sound mixing is clearly a problem of New Order not the venue. I also recall 1963 at The Troxy being swamped by guitars over vocals. I was by the mixing desk on the second Brixton date and after 40 minutes barney was talking between songs and you could not hear it so someone shouted 'turn the fucking mic up' and the penny must have dropped with the soundman because from then onwards it was fine.
