Atmosphere 2:1 (they all know it, enough said)
Thieves Like Us 20:1 (even though I tweet @Newordernow every other day pleading for it to be played in Oakland, I doubt it)
Round and Round 1:2 (will get played in NY or Toronto on 2nd night)
Confusion 12:1 (would not be shocked to see this drop as a surprise in NYC with some witty remark by Bernard about Arthur Baker)
Love Vigilantes 5:1 (appears to have been dropped for Isolation)
Any othe Technique track 50:1 (if it happens, I'll eat my favorite hat)
She's Lost Control 10:1 (most likely Joy Division song to be added after Atmosphere)
Everything Gone Green 25:1 (something tells me this may be re-worked and would sound great as a 5 piece)
Give me your odds......
I think the biggest stumbling block for getting anything other than the current crop of tracks is the videos.
Looks like more and more work is going into the videos for the current tracks than attempting to do anything different 'musically' with new/old tracks. The videos/lights for the likes of Isolation and Here to Stay have come on leaps and bounds in the past couple of months. Even Ceremony has its own backing video now too ... and of course we've all see the 'Joy Division Forever' video for the encore, which has morphed subtly over the past few gigs (but still looks like it needs a helluva lot more work).
Given that, if anything new/old gets added it'll be 1963, seeing as it already comes with its own backdrop - you left that one off your list!
You are too right I did forget to include 1963 on my odds list. Odds for 1963 is as follows:
1963 2:1 (stong feeling it will get aired at some point)
As for Atmosphere, they have a video they can mine for a backdrop. Works great.
I did not take into account the video aspect of things, and for that I would be remiss from pointing out the videos for the following songs could all be translated quite nicely to back drops (a la True Faith).
Touched by the Hand of God (cut the band performance use the Bill Paxton scenes) 35:1
Fine Time (would be insane) 500:1
Spooky (never gonna happen) 500:1
Waiting for the Sirens Call (the kid running on loop) 30:1
At the end of the day, its all fun and games really, isn't? I can probably guess 14 of the 16 songs they will play every night and I don't care. I saw them in the US last time around in 2005 and they weren't playing 586, 1963, Ceremony, Age of Consent, The Perfect Kiss, Isolation, 1963, Here to Stay, Round & Round, or Thieves Like Us. I can only go once this time around, unlike the 4 times in 2005. You get married and have kids, things change, etc. I'm pumped at least 1/3 of the set will be different. I'll enjoy dreaming they will play Thieves Like Us in Oakland, until they don't and I'll be happy with Here to Stay (which has really improved since its first airing in Australia oh so many months ago) and the 5 piece Blue Monday which as somone else pointed out is brilliant since Phil is playing the digi-pads and Tom is jamming.
