Which makes me wonder why they didn't pad the release with other alternate versions of the tracks like the Mac Quayle mix of Guilt is a Useless Emotion, which was well regarded, even by Hooky.

 With hindsight, I'd question why it was even on WFTSC?

Well we know it's a different mix from the one on the last album. I remember being one of the people speculating that it might be the Stuart Price mix when it was discussed on the "old" Lost Sirens thread. But I checked the timings after that and they didn't quite seem to match. According to Amazon the LS version is 5.05 mins, but the 12 x 12" version is slightly longer than that. So...

That was on the American release of the WFTSC CD: http://www.discogs.com/N...rens-Call/release/446193But the Planet Funk mix of WFTSC would be nice to have on CD, along with perhaps one of the more obscure mixes of Krafty. Not that this post will make a blind bit of difference... *edit* In fact Andy if you are in California, that Max Quayle mix should be on your version of WFTSC. It's one siren that I would wish would remain lost.. But on listening to it I reckon that it is a track that they spent a lot of time on, it sound over cooked to me and I wouldn't be surprised if they spent ages working on it, after all the album took 3 years to make..

I just thought that if their definition of "Lost" included versions of tracks, other mixes could be included. Edited by user 29 September 2012 06:46:38(UTC)

It ain't that bad. WFTSC is probably their least consistent album? (Discuss.)

Michael Monkhouse wrote:It ain't that bad. WFTSC is probably their least consistent album? (Discuss.) It's the second and last NO album I've bought so far (the other being International) so I'm not able to compare it to the other albums. I think that the first 4 songs are excellent examples of anthemic rock. Everyting about it is perfect. Then, there's a drop in quality with the next 4 songs IMO, but that doesen't mean that there are bad, just a bit dull, especially, Dracula's Castle. Guilt Is A Useless Emotion it's an improvement (even tough the lyrics are "simplistic", as it's more catchy and entertaining. And then comes Turn, which is another masterpiece in every aspect. Working Overtime sounds like Oasis, which isn't great but it isn't bad either. So, IMO, there are 5 five-stars songs (the first 4 plus Turn), 1 four-stars song (Guilt Is A Useless Emotion), 4 three-stars songs (I Told You So and the next 3 songs plus Working Overtime). So, yeah, it's not a perfect album, but there aren't any bad songs, and 5 of them touch greatness, that's why I give the album 4 stars. Although I don't play it as often as International, I think it was good purchase (One of the reasons why I bought it is that I read that it sounds like Bad Lieutenant and I really like what I've heard of Bad Lieutenant, the other reason is that one of the 2 studio albums I've found, the other being Get Ready).

Still makes no sense why it's on there...
Maybe that's why Hooky took it to court? |
