Hi All

Father Jack here - making first appearance on the new style forums.

I am looking to make a short documentary film about New Order and would like to interview and film some New Order fans (ask them about their thoughts on the band's past, present and future and in particular to document fans personal experiences of meeting the band, listening to the music, seeing them live etc).

There are two possibilities for the film:

1) Only fan footage is used and once finished and edited, it gets posted on youtube, or NOOL or a media sharing website free for all to enjoy

or

2) I have contacted New Order via NewOrderNow.net to see if I can also conduct some interviews with the band - if this become possible, then I anticipate the end footage will be given to band first to see if they want to use it for commerical purposes (DVD extras etc) - if not, I will see if they are happy for some or all footage to be made publicly available free of charge via youtube, or NOOL or a media sharing website. If this route becomes possible, the film would focus mainly on the band's future, as I think the band's past has been pretty well documented already in various films, interviews, documentaries, books etc.


I don't anticipate scenario (2) will pan out, as I am sure that the band are probably very busy.... but you never know.
Will wait and see what happens.

In the meantime, I would like to press ahead and get some footage from fans, so that I can at least make a film as per scenario (1).

If you are interested in being filmed and interviewed, please PM me and I will try and set up a date/time/place where we can meet and conduct the interview.
Might not be able to make it out to the sticks for those of you that live remotely, but can probably get to most cities/major towns and can either interview you at your place or can try and find a friendly local publican who will let us film in their pub (or, if the weather is nice and there is a quiet-ish place, we can do the interview outside).

Nice idea.

Haven't you missed a trick though by not suggesting this a couple of weeks back ... you could've got no end of interviews at any of the UK dates, including a LOT of posters from here.

Hope this works out for you.

Unfortunately, I have only just got the camera equipment, so couldn't do it in time for the gigs.
Also, I missed NO's Brixton gig!!! Long story, but thought I had ticket for the 3rd May.... got ready to go on the 3rd, dug out my ticket and it said the 2nd :-o

BIG thanks to those who have responded so far - you know who you are :-)

Unfortunately we are still a little short of the numbers we need to get filming underway; so if you might like to share your thoughts on film (well, 1080p video!), then please get in touch within the next week, otherwise I may have to mothball the project for the time being.
