Clunky Barney lyrics were great in the 80s but were not so great in 2001,i totally agree.Kind of odd that, and a shame . Almost makes the album unlistenable. What's going on here? I think that the prior albums had a clunky feel... so not only were his lyrics a bit off, but so was the recording and a bit of the playing. Get Ready is a highly polished product, and so the lyrics don't match what would be expected of that quality of production... just a thought..

Yeah, I agree that's what it probably is. That's what made pre-Republic New Order so special; everything was just a tad... off. Makes me wonder what Crystal or Primitive Notion would sound like if they weren't quadruple-tracked and laminated to death.
