Just now, Chromatics leader/Italians Do It Better labelhead/all-around synth maestro Johnny Jewel shared with us an Autumn mix to celebrate the end of one of his “favorite times of year… Perfect weather for locking yourself in the studio with a synthesizer & your favorite records.” Included in that mix was an unreleased cover of the New Order classic “Ceremony” by Chromatics. Built around a skittering, skeletal backbeat, the cover features Glass Candy vocalist Ida No on guitar and places a larger emphasis on singer Ruth Radelet’s vocals than the original does on Bernard Sumner’s. Download the MP3 below
