Best Hooky's interview of the last 10 years! "Well, now he(bernard Sumner)'s got nobody to upset him. He's got what he's always wanted, which is a bass player who does what he's told." |

I agree it is a good interview, it is sad what happened to them, the fighting and the bickering, once a great band and friends are now a pile of broken blokes, but broken can always be fixed no matter how much damage. |

As Hooky wrote on his amps during the South American Tour in 2006: "Mr. Horse, once upon a time two boys started a group. It fell apart. The end".
I don't believe in everything they told (Hooky and Bernard). But I remember quite clearly the bassist began the fight on the interviews when he announced deliberately the New Order's split without the consent of the others. Bernard & Co. have been attacked by Hooky for a long time since they said that New Order would carry on with or without him. So, Bernard was right to say to Spinner his own version and answer the criticisms from Hooky. For me Hooky took a bit of his own poison and seems unwilling to accept it in this new and angry interview. C'est la vie, Pete. Edited by user 29 January 2013 07:17:58(UTC)

Watching Hooky & The Light on YouTube and then listening to Movement, made me realize that Hooky always wanted to be a singer after Ian died. And I think it would have been a good compromise as witnessed on Movement... Why it didn't go any further is the question. No doubt, when Barney "found himself" (by the end of 1981), he usurped the leadership without looking ever back. And after 10 years going solo (1989-2000), it was even harder for Hooky to accept Barney's role as a leader... Now they had nothing to lose, in creative and possibly financial terms. It may be that Hooky bluffed in 2007 announcing the end of the band, only, much to his shock to see that it didn't really stop the band.

Must be at least a week since the last angry interview. He reminds me of Roger Waters, who said he was quitting the band and told the rest of Pink Floyd "You'll never fucking do it without me!"... only to find that they did quite alright afterwards.
Also, when was the first Unknown Pleasures show? Bad Lieu started playing live October 2009, and played 2 JD songs, if I remember correctly (much less than when N.O played JD material in 2001-2006).
How come nobody ever asks him why he's so angry about N.Order? What did they do to him, apart from Not Split Up? Why does he constantly belittle Gillian? It's such a shame. He's doing all these interviews, and I think he's scared of creating new material. It's a shame he calls New Order a tribute band when The Light haven't performed a since written in the past thirty years that I know of.

" – Calvin Harris, Soulwax, David Guetta. My dream for the 30th anniversary of 'Blue Monday' is for them all to do a mad commercial remix of it."
Maybe Soulwax. But the other two guys? a commercial remix? Nooooo thanks.
"I'm afraid that the world is full of much more important things than two fat old blokes arguing about [whether I] left the band or [we] split."
Yep. Time to stop going on about it in public.

I don't think there was ever any love lost between Hooky and Gillian, but damn, he seems to just hate her now. (And Steve too.)
C'mon Hooky, I used to like you. He needs a manager or somebody to step in and stop these piss-and-moan interviews. They're not serving him at all.
