Did they know him? This sounds like a lot of early live New Order. Did this guy work with New Order in the early 80s? Did this song inspire New Order? Looking online, "they" had two 7" singles... but this is basically the only song. One 7" was a joke vinyl that was glued to sleeve apparently, so it was unplayable. If anything, the kick-drum echo on the Donna Summer track was more similar to the effect used on "The Beach".
