Many thanks to perspexorange who kindly sent me this recently.
Um, am i the only person who'd never seen this? I'd never seen it til perspexorange sent me it.It's not the version that is on the 'Best Of' VHS.The version (the 94 one) on there that's clips of all the other New Order videos. This version was, i think, only available if you bought the International compilation on iTunes? Or the U.S. release of International.
It's bloody ace.IMHO much better than the original True Faith video.Much more footage from Glastonbury 87.Hooky actually features a lot in it (not just his left leg), more shots of the crowd and great clips of Barney going bonkers throwing his guitar across the stage and then an amp (i'm guessing that footage was at the end of the set when they did Sister Ray?)
I tried to upload to YouTube but, predictably and unsurprisingly, it was removed immediately because of copyright.Ah well, you can but try.
Anyway, if you've never seen it send me a pm with an email address and i can send it you using WeTransfer (you don't have to have a WeTransfer account).
It's well worth seeing.

Yes, it's on the International comp that came with a bonus DVD. Also includes the official short edit of The Perfect Kiss.

Am I the only one who thinks Fine Young Cannibals' video for She Drives Me Crazy (from 1989) may have borrowed an idea from True Faith?

... same director(Philippe Decouflé) and choreographer for both videos, that's why.

Yeah, I remember when that FYC video was released, it was heralded as being the new video by the director of the True Faith video. When I saw it, I remember thinking ‘well that was a bit of a rip-off’.
Glad you liked the ‘alternate’ video, Fotz. It is certainly even better than the original video. I think even Hooky would be pleased with it (he reportedly wasn’t very pleased that pleased only his knee featured in the original one).

Yes, definitely some new Glasto footage there compared to the other videos. Not all from TF though (as you've already pointed out). The Shergold Marathon 6 bit looks like it is from Subculture (in the audience vid you can see the camera team zooming in on Hooky during the Subculture solo)

Also of interest, indiearchivist pointed me in the direction of this.Someone has very cleverly synced the Radio 1 Glastonbury 87 New Order In Concert with the audience recorded video of the gig and for True Faith edited in the bits where Barney is seen singing in the True Faith video.Go to 18 mins 38 seconds in.I did watch the audience recorded video years ago but at the end of the gig after Sister Ray it's the part seen in the alternate True Faith video that has footage of Barney throwing his guitar and then an amp across the stage.

This is great! Never seen it before. A very nice job, indeed. You know, watching that video makes you remember just how bloody brilliant and unique the band was in the 80s. Not that they aren't great now - it's just that with those 80s gigs, they seemed so exciting and unpredictable. Watching that alternate True Faith video and looking at the additional 'clown' bits that were added, they seem quite similar to some of the bits used in the '? (the best of) New Order' VHS; the bits used to link the videos. I've decided to put these clips on youtube, just in case anyone is interested. Here they are: http://www.youtube.com/w...h?v=D0KJfhHVAxA&t=1sEdited by user 19 August 2018 05:08:13(UTC)

Damn. Tried to do a link like Fotz did above (with the video able to be played within the forum) but I failed. This is obviously beyond my technical ability... Edited by user 18 August 2018 02:35:57(UTC)

Cheers. The board won't let me edit the link for some reason (detected as spam). Will try to post a decent link here:

I remember those from the Best Of vid, cos I was getting sick of shelling out for the same story again and again, so at least here was something 'new'.

It’s like both of your worlds have collided, Michael. To be fair, she can sing but, yeah, like Debaser says, I can do without the emoting. The way she ‘shields her eyes from the sun’ during the appropriate line. Bleugh. Reminds me of Legs and Co, Pan’s People on TOTP acting out the lyrics of certain songs back in the day.
