when Rhino records and Neworder.net put the offical date then it will be released, Don't trust the other sites,They are probably still planning what single to relese and probably some remixes with it, it would be nice to hear a nice remix for hellbent also. |

I think we would be incredibly lucky to get a single and/or remixes at this point.
"Hellbent" was never properly a single, it was just a 1 track CD-R to promote "Total".
It wasn't even a standalone digital release.
I'd be happy with the album and that's all, I really think that's all we'll get at this late stage.

Agreed, why are people so obsessed with remixes, a remix of Hellbent? Now that would be opening the gateways of Hell..

Agreed, why are people so obsessed with remixes, a remix of Hellbent? Now that would be opening the gateways of Hell.. I wouldn't say people are "obsessed" with remixes but they tend to be liked by those who are fans of dance/electronic music. For a band of New Order's stature in electronic music that's not an entirely unsurprising thing. Some remixes are good, some are admittedly shite and some have even improved on the originals; Krafty and Jetstream are good examples. Personally, I'd rather the band do proper "song" B sides but as Lost Sirens is an outtakes album in the first place we clearly won't get that. If someone like Richard Morel did an extended version of Hellbent I wouldn't say no to it, he's got good form in that area. Edited by user 26 October 2012 14:47:49(UTC)

Taking Krafty as an example, The Glimmers removes some of the melodic elements and guitars and Hooky basslines and stretches the track out but can hardly be called an improvement. The Phones Reality remix is fine for the first 60 seconds and then becomes (to me) unlistenable. The Andy Green remix is close to the original with an added keyboard flourish but isn't radically different so for me the Krafty single release would have been far more interesting if it had just the Andy Green version accompanied by a different song (maybe an instrumental) I could never muster up the enthusiasm to listen to the various mixes of Jetstream so I can't comment on whether or not any of the different version have merit.

I enjoyed the Felix Da Housecat mix of 'Here to Stay', and some of the remixes from the Republic era. Quite a few of the remixes of 'Crystal' were brilliant too.

Remix highlights of the 2000-2006 era, in no particular order: Quote:Touched By The Hand Of God (Touched By The Hand Of Bias) Confusion (Koma & Bones Vocal Mix) Everything's Gone Green (Martin Butterich Mix) Waiting For The Sirens' Call (Planet Funk Mix) Krafty (Morel's Pink Noise Vocal) Jetstream (Richard X Remix) Here To Stay (Felix Da Housecat Thee Extended Glitz Mix) Crystal (Lee Coombs Mix) Someone Like You (Gabriel + Dresden 911 Vocal Mix) True Faith (Morel's Pink Noise Club Mix) Guilt Is A Useless Emotion (Bill Hamel Vocal Mix) In my opinion of course; these are all really good efforts. Of course there are crap remixes out there - that's obvious - just ignore 'em. Edited by user 27 October 2012 05:50:29(UTC)

I like that Funk d'Void remix of Someone Like You better than the original. Same goes for the Tom Neville remix of Jetstream. The original, Get Ready album version of Crystal is for me the ultimate, although Lee Coombs comes close. The Biff and Memphis remix of Touched is what I'd call a real stoater. Some songs apparently lend themselves to remixing, others I just can't imagine remixed, eg The Perfect Kiss, Special, or Fine Time. I seem to have lost track though, I've never heard of Gabriel/Dresden and a few others already mentioned? I must investigate sometime. The Blue Monday Hardfloor and Confusion Pump Panel remixes deserve a mention, along with that very weird yet somehow compelling remix of BLT by Armand van Helden.

Morel's Pink Noise Remix of "Guilt is a Useless Emotion" is my favorite New order song period. I'm a big fan of electronic and dance music, a big part of my New Order fandom came from going back and realizing what pioneers they were and how much they influenced artists I liked later. They were one of the first bands to even have remixes, and while most 80s remixes are pretty terrible, I think they've had some great ones over the years and I'd love to see some remixes of the Lost Sirens tracks.
Here's a few others I love: Bizarre Love Triangle (Richard X Remix) Here to Stay (Felix da Housecat Remix) Confusion (Koma & Bones Vocal Mix) Everything's Gone Green (Cicada Remix) Jetstream (Richard X Remix) Krafty (The Passengerz Revolution Club Mix) Someone Like You (Murdok Remix) - Unofficial remix, but absolutely FANTASTIC True Faith (Morel's Pink Remix)
There's also a few remixes of Republic tracks and "Crystal" that I really enjoy, but the names are escaping me right now.

This a great one - took the average-ish Secret Machines Remix and beefed it up considerably.
