It looks like some people on Facebook have got copies of the book already (some from the signing(s) and some from independent bookshops).
Pretty annoying as mine isn't due to arrive from Amazon until 16/05/19, which also appears to be the digital release date.

What do you call a cross between Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert? Tracey Thorn.

I cancelled mine from Amazon a few days ago and pre-ordered a signed copy from Rough Trade instead.
Annoyingly, it still hasn’t dispatched yet. Typical.
Will buy a digital copy tonight anyway, which will tide me over.

Mine arrived today from amazon. Pissed off there’s signed ones at roug trade. First new order book not signed.
Had to miss his talk and book signing in Manchester. As already had tickets for sleaford Mods I in Derby. Did anyone go to any of Steve’s book signings? Anyone ask if they are going to record some new music?

My signed copy has been dispatched. Should be at my home tomorrow.
Read a chapter and a half of the digital edition last night.
What I’ve read so far is nice and breezy.
Looking forward to getting to the meat and potatoes of the book.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday... You’ve got to mow the lawn, wash the car.
I bloody love Partridge. I could quote him all day.
Badly tarmacked drives... in this country.

Steve started writing his book way back in 2005? At the start he writes about being in a hotel in Tokyo as New Order are in Japan to play the Fuji Festival and the last time they played at that was 2005, right?

Went to the Book Q&A at Hebden Bridge Trades last Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Steve was extremely witty (as expected) with his anecdotes, ably helped-out by Haslam's lines of questioning.
The book-signing was great, with Steve allowing time for a bit of chat with each person who queued - seeing as I asked him, he did share that plans are well advanced for the Definitive boxset for PC&L …….….. YES!!!!!
Gillian attended also & the banter went back and forth from the stage during the Q&A - at the end, she was also good enough to add her signature to the copies of the book signed by Steve.
All in all, a crackin' night

No spoilers! A tip of the hat to Royal Mail. The book arrived Monday evening even though the Amazon UK site still is stating delivery on June 4th!

I went to the Q&A/signing at the Social last night - it was a good night (although maybe it went on just a little bit too long), apart from the three or four twats sat near the front shouting rubbish at each other throughout the playback of Unknown Pleasures: I don't think people should be expected to sit in hushed reverence, but I don't want to hear a moron shouting out about how he didn't like the last episode of Game of Thrones, and similarly brain dead musings FFS. Gillian was again there, other people were asking for autographs and pictures but I decided to leave it until she does something similar for her book (if/when one ever comes out) I had a very brief chat with Stephen - I was near the end of the queue to get books signed and thought it best to keep it brief by the time I got to meet him: amongst other things he told me that for the European tour later in the year, they decided to go to places they haven't been to before, and also with the live album coming out in the summer , there is supposed to be a DVD coming out at some point too. I had a quick flick through the book on the train on the way home, but I probably won't get round to actually trying to read it until I go on holiday in August. Yeah - I left after an hour when the host was still playing his own records and presenting his little history of punk and the 70s. I figured that with UP still to play + Mr Morris finally appearing + the queuing to get the book signed it'd be over 4 hours in that tiny hot basement which is fine, but this is a New Order forum and I am a New Order fan. So 9 minute long tracks from the Velvet Underground are not for me. Fair play to anyone who stayed though and is primarily a JD fan - I respect that period, but my mistake. I didn't realise what the content would be Morris free for so long and it wasn't for me. Gutted I didn't get the book signed or to meet the legends (or even see them) :-) Guess I'll be back when Volume 2 is released next year instead. I was at the front too and you were right about those pricks. A contributing factor to my early exit. Edited by user 23 May 2019 01:42:16(UTC)

Three quarters way through the book now.Such a difference between it and say Barney's book is the detail.Barney's book was vague in places and skipped and breezed through a lot.Steve's detailing of recording sessions and musical equipment/recording techniques/studio stuff is in stark contrast to Barney's book. Some of it can be a bit heavy going at times but you can always rely on Steve to lighten and relieve things with a cracking bit of humour.
Slime! Haha, i remember that slime in a jar stuff from the late 70s.The joke shop stuff that Steve writes about trying to get into Wilson's pocket at the battle of the bands thing; i remember that slime stuff. And Steve's account of other staples of late 70s life- Space Invaders etc
And who knew it's him twinkling the piano towards the end of Transmission (though you have to listen hard)?
Steve was quite the precocious teenager eh? Expelled form school.
I guess one of my strongest memories of Joy Division was buying Unknown Pleasures on cassette ( only had a "ghetto blaster" in those days) in the balmy hot summer of 1984 and being totally blown away by it.The drums, wow.Listening to the album late at night those summer nights and finally drifting off to sleep to the sound of those lift shafts and breaking glass on last track I Remember Nothing.
Oh and Gillian in the photo at the opening page of the How I Met Your Mother chapter; wow.Moody and beautiful.
